I am proud to be a Malaysian but what happened recently to our society make me think. Our country, Malaysia has become a very popular and favourite spot for dumping, not the usual garbage dumping that we all may think of but it is baby dumping. Baby dumping is the acts of irresponsible’s person by throwing away the innocent babies at any places without taking care of the baby. Baby dumping is a chronic social crisis in our country as many cases are occurring in Malaysian society and are increasing day by day. Community especially youth have become hearthless and violent. Why this mothers among youth especially today, willing to dump their own babies. Doesn’t they have feelings even a little to their own babies? Based on Bukit Aman Police Headquarters statistics, it was found a total of 580 innocent babies were found dumped at garbage, toilet, and toilet bag between years 2000-2006. This number of cases of baby dumping has increased every year where as much as 65 baby dumping cases has increased to 83 cases in the year 2006. In the first five months, almost every day there are reports on dumped baby cases. Year 2010 also known as Year of Baby Dumping cases and this has brought a lots of question and issues. Surely, all of us have heard about fruit season and others, but do you ever heard of baby dumping season? New Year celebration and Valentine’s Day are known as mating season nowadays which leads to unwanted pregnancies among youth and obviously, leads to baby dumping cases which can be easily read in the mass media. Besides that, we can also see that many news today in newspaper are so horrifying such as ‘’Body of Baby Found in Dustbin’’, ‘’Dogs Found Baby in Trash Bag’’ and many others. When the babies were dump, fortunate... ... middle of paper ... ...d not let the baby dumping cases in Malaysia becoming more serious. We should take some steps to minimize the number of baby being dump among society. The preventive measure need to be taken now. Please do not wait for more a little time to cope this cases. The innocent babies need us. The parties like parents, community, schools, and mass media need to take the responsible to minimize the baby dumping cases from now on. Let’s hope that we would not see any babies were dump again in future. Teenagers should also keep a distance from the crimes. They have to learn to be responsible on what they have done and try to think maturely of the consequences such as the advantages and disadvantages of things. They must know how to differentiate bad things and good things. Baby dumping should be eliminated from now on and leave a peaceful and caring society for us to live in.

Due to the increasing numbers each year of abandoned babies in our country, law makers are starting to pass laws designed to protect abandoned babies. According to a survey of media reports conducted by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 65 newborns were abandoned in public places in 1991, and that number rose to 108 by 1998. Experts can't explain why the number of abandoned babies is increasing, the only thing they see is that these people leaving their babies appear to be desperate and totally ignorant of what could be done for their babies. Babies are found alive, and sometimes dead in dumpsters, parking lots, woods, and rivers. In 1999, Houston, which leads the country in this phenomenon, reported 13 incidents in a 10-month period. Three of the babies were found dead.

All of the tears, grief, and heartbreak of parents, family, and friends combine to transform into something much greater. Both birth and the postpartum period involve a certain degree of danger for the birthing mother, her nascent child, and her entire family or community. Because childbirth is so dangerous (the average lifetime risk of dying from pregnancy related causes is about one in fifteen in some poor countries, MacCormack 1), most cultures have distinct patterns that determine how the birthing process will be carried out. The birthing process involves different birthing positions; different rules concerning who is allowed to be present during the time of birth; mechanisms for deciding where birth takes place; and different ways by which mother and child deal with labor, birth and postpartum. "As a life crisis event, birth is everywhere a candidate for consensual shaping and social regulation the particular pattern depending on local history, ecology, social structure, technological development, and the like" (Jordan 4). By exploring the original human condition of childbirth one is able to gain insight into the universal biosocial phenomenon known as the birthing process.

...lenging situation of single parenthood. This problem has not as much to do with the mothers in these situations but the fathers or lack there of. These poorer families tend to take the traditional view of marriage where the father is the main breadwinner of the family instead of a HIP marriage. This lack of money and a father figures often lead to the children involved looking for a sense of community which they find in gangs and other socially unhealthy environments. Together with others, some of these factors may lead to dropping out of schools by the pregnant teenage as she is required to play the role of mother to the unborn baby.
