In Babe the Gallant Pig, Dick King Smith explores the idea of positive messages, like for example, with hard work and perseverance a positive result could be shown. Throughout the novel, Babe was shown to just be a random livestock pig won by Farmer Hoggett at the fair, then later shows his surprising talent and aptitude of controlling a flock even better than a regular sheep dog.
