Would you break the law to save a loved one? To began with, the book of “ Anthem” by Ayn Rand, “Emancipation Proclamation” by Abraham Lincoln, “Prometheus”, Greek Mythology and “Critical Thinking” by Lou. We also had a Socratic Seminar with all the students in our class. Without thinking I will break the law to save a loved one. Furthermore, in the book Anthem, Equality breaks the law when he tells the Golden one that he loves her. In the story of Anthem the strongest law that you could not break was saying the word “I”. You would be killed if you said this. Abraham Lincoln was trying to free the slaves because he did not like having slaves he believed everyone had the same rights. He was trying to free the slaves in the year of 1863 “The Emancipation Proclamation, was a presidential proclamation and executive order issued by President Abraham Lincoln on January 1, 1863. It changed the federal legal status of more than 3 million enslaved people in the designated areas of the South from slave to free.” In this quote it's talks when Abraham lincoln changes the law of having slaves because the thought that everyone was equal. Prometheus disobeys the law because he said that the humans were suffering without fire. “If they only had fire, said Prometheus to himself, they could at least warm themselves and cook their food; and after a while they could learn to make tools and build themselves houses. Without fire, they are worse off than beasts.” In this quote is talking about when Prometheus broke the law for the humans so they won't be miserable so they could have better conditions of life. In my personal life when I was in my class of English the teacher always gets mad when we talk, but one of my friends need it to help in English, so I help him in the class but at the end the teacher got mad at me but my friend could finish his work. Furthermore, in the video of critical thinking by Leo, he said that “we need to think deeply to understand why the things are the why they are ” this is related to my question, will you break the law to save a loved one,because if you break the law you need to understand that they will be a punishment.
