There is evidence to show that autism can the cause of nature and nurture. The twin study on autism supports the fact that autism is nature based however there are many factors in the environment that can cause autism as well. In my opinion Autism is Nurture based. If we are exposed to certain things in our environment we are more likely to have autism. For example: A person who is exposed to phthalates prenatally, surrounded by people who have been diagnosed with autism or some other mental illness and had some some kind of complication while he or she was fetus is obviously more likely to have autism than a person had a healthy childhood, had a safe pregnancy and was constantly surrounded by positive and bright people. I also believe that the placebo effect plays a major role in autism. Like any other mental illness if you think you have a mental illness you will have a hard time overcoming it. If people tried their best to overcome autism maybe they would succeed. If people reirected their negtive thouhts to positive thoughts most likely they would have a easier time facing it.What I am talking about is a mindset.Your Mindset, determination, mativation and perciveriance plays a major role in autism from my point of view.
