So for the last month before school I was staying with Harry and the Dursleys. Aunt Petunia was alright with me being in the house. She claimed that even though I was a witch and I didn’t act like one that she was fine with me, as long as she could dress me up like a doll.
In the beginning Uncle Vernon didn’t like the fact that there was going to be another magical person in the house, but he soon got over it when he saw how I acted with Aunt Petunia.
Instead of staying inside like Harry had to, Aunt Petunia would dress me up and go and show me off at one of her friend’s house. She treated me nicer than Harry. I hated being in the center of attention like Dudley was.
So one day when Aunt Petunia was dressing me up to go out I didn’t take it like usual. I told her that it wasn’t fair how they treated Harry and she dismissed it. Then when we were about to go out, I made sure Harry was watching, and I threw a fit in the living room in front of Uncle Vernon, Aunt Petunia, Harry, and surprisingly, Dudley.

You have had Harry under your roof for ten years and have only had me under your roof for a few weeks! You treat me as though I wasn’t a witch! I’m like Harry! We’re twins for Merlin’s sake! You didn’t even know I was alive until Hagrid and I got Harry so we could get our school things! How can you treat me so well and Harry so bad?! He is your nephew! I don’t care if I’m your niece! Everybody in the Muggle and Wizarding worlds have thought I have been dead for ten years! The only people who knew I was alive are some of the teachers at Hogwarts! So don’t sit there and act like I’m not part of that world! I’m no more Muggle than Harry! I don’t even know how Harry has survived in this house all these years! Especially with Dudley always beating on him! You all are disgusting!” I
Harry had an issue at home with his parents who did not do what a real parent would do, not experiencing the outside world, having parents who come home late and does not take care of their son. Although my personal life is not exactly the same as his, I can connect to it. My parents are not party members but they
Harry’s parents don’t really know how to raise a child. The spend thier days partying and drinking. Harry is mentally abused and pohysically abused. Because of this Harry really doesnt know how to be a real child and how to act. He takes life as a joke and doesnt think that anything actually serious, and orginially he told everyone that his name was Bevel. When Harry arives at the river for his bapatism he meets a very strict preacer and Harry doesnt know how to talk to him, harry says,
In the beginning Harry is being picked up by Mrs. Connin and it immediately becomes obvious that his parents lives revolve around partying. After Henrys father does a terrible job of dressing him because he’s still half asleep from partying the night before Mrs. Connin says “I couldn’t smell
Hermione Granger is Harry’s other best friend. She is a very smart wizard, a know it all and has brown, curly hair. Hermione is a Muggle-born wizard which means both of her parents don’t have magical powers. Her life revolves around school. Whenever she is not in class, she is either studying, doing homework, or she is in the library reading.
“We do!” said Hermione. She had sat up straight, her eyes bright. “We protest! And I’m hunted quite as much as any goblin or elf, Griphook! I’m a Mudblood!”
Harry has spent all summer waiting to hear news about Lord Voldemort, a evil wizard that Harry saw return the year before, but nobody believes him. One evening after listening to news ,he decides to go for a walk. He then sees his cousin, who he lives with and hates. They then get in a fight and Harry pulls out his wand and at that exact moment two dementors attack them. Dudley thinks Harry is attacking him so he punches Harry. Harry then heroically saves them both by producing a patronus and driving away the dementors.
Now to get to the Prisoner of Azkaban. Harry Potter is back for the summer at the Dursley’s home. The Dursley’s are his mothers sister, and that family detests Harry in every way possible. They keep him locked up in a cupboard in the basement, take his owl (used for delivering mail etc.) his wand, and his trunk of spell books and everything else he could use to do any bit of magic. Harry’s birthday again passes without being noticed by the Dursley’s, but Harry receives presents from Ron and Hermione and also Hagrid.
Harry is calling for help because he believes there is a monster in his closet. His father answers. The father responds, "It's just a closet Harry" (Birds of a Feather). However, the father does not leave Harry alone with whatever is in the closet. Instead, he gives him a protective charm that his mother wore. This is the first sign of loyalty viewers see in the show. The viewer can see the father remaining loyal to his wife by keeping her shield bracelet and to his son for passing this bracelet down to him. After attaining the shield bracelet, the audience is thrown back into the present day with a grown-up Harry. Harry is for lack-of-a-better-word irresponsible. In the first five minutes the viewer can get a good idea on where Harry's morals lie; to him and himself. The viewer sees that Harry tries to call in a favor to get his car unbooted, then when the favor does not work he then bargains with helping with an investigation in order to get his car free. The only thing that seems to point Harry's personality in the right direction is the child he meets named Scott. Scott is the perfect foil for Harry. Scott is innocent and more importantly, his drive to help his family is enough to acquire Harry's help for
In 1997, the first book of the Harry Potter series was released in the United States, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. It was then that people began to fall in love with “The boy who lived.”, Harry Potter, and began their love/hate relationship with the man who would end up helping to save his life multiple times over (Rowling, J.K., 2007). This love/hate relationship developed because it seems as if this man, a professor at Hogwart’s School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, constantly was against the hero, Harry. There is a buildup of the fact that Sna...
Harry Lockhart has a great desire to fit in with people that want absolutely nothing to do with him. In one scene in the movie, Harry walks up to a group of people standing at a party and proceeds to light a cigarette, the group walks away with the look of disgust on their faces. Through the entire movie he attempts to make a lot of sarcastic comments, to make people think he is a suave, witty guy. Harry is a kind of loser that could be well liked if he did not try as hard for people's friendship and respect. Harry got into a fight with "Gay" Perry
This aspect of Harry’s low esteem and lack of identity makes him doubtful and confused. Unfortunately, Harry’s father and mother had been murdered by the evil Wizard, Lord Voldemort. In this family life, Harry is future victimized by the selfishness of Uncle Vernon and his wife. These domestic experiences in the “real world” are grim, as they often involve Harry’s struggle with Uncle Vernon. In this way, Uncle Vernon prevents him realizing his true identity as the son of a famous “pure-blood” wizard. For example, Uncle Vernon prevents Harry from seeing letters from a mysterious writer that seeks to know his
He fails to realize that he is the source of his own problems and won't acknowledge it because he is prideful. ” Pride is described as having a conceited, arrogant, exaggerated opinion of yourself”, this relevant to Harry because he thinks so highly of himself. It's not bad to think highly of yourself, but once it reaches the point to where believe you don't have a problem it becomes bad.
Harry Potter starts off slow, but gets very interesting near the end. In the beginning, you meet the Dursleys, Harry’s aunt, uncle, and their son Dudley. Then you learn that Harry’s parents were witches, and that they were destroyed by a evil wizard. A good witch, Albus Dumbeldoor, sends Harry to the Dursleys, because they’re his only remaining family. The Dursleys however, hated Harry and his family, so Harry was mistreated for years. He was forced to live in a cuborrod under the stairs. He had to watch as the fat, stuck up Dudley got whatever he wanted, and then usually broke whatever it was he got. Then one day Harry got a letter.
