An audio Cassette also known as Music cassette (MC) uses a magnetic tape recording format to record audio. Audio cassettes come in two forms, either pre-recorded or blank and empty. The word cassette is a French word, which itself means a little box, rectangular in shape. A famous company known as Phillips was the first one to come up with the music cassette idea, but as time passed, its huge mass production was done all over the world. In order to listen to the music stored in these cassettes, one has to buy a Walkman or cassette player that are usually portable and can easily fit into a pocket and can allow people carry music around with them.

These two reels along with their reel hubs are located beside each other. When an audio cassette is played, the tape rolled around the supply reel hub is transferred to the take up reel hub, which can be seen through the window located right in the middle of both reels. These spools and other related parts are held inside a protective plastic shell. The Cassette shell is a cover that holds the entire mechanism together as well as protect all other components and from the environment. The other major parts include erase head, Pressure Head, Capstan, Playback Head and Tape Guide. Erase head uses an electromagnet that operates at a constant frequency to erase any information recorded in the past on the tape. Erase head is helpful to reuse the tape to record any other sound on it. Pressure head pushes the magnetic tape against the playback head, to play the sound when inserted in the player. This tape is then pulled by a metal rod known as Capstan. The coil that detects the magnetic frequency of a tape when played, and converts the signals into a sound is called playback head. This read tape is then rolled around the take up reel, by the help of tape guide that are two rotating wheels located on the top right and left corner and guides the magnetic tape from one reel to another. These tape guide also help in fast

The tapes are divided into four categories. Grammar Rock deals with parts of a sentence and their functions. Each song centers on a different part of speech, like nouns, adjectives, and conjunctions. Multiplication Rock only deals with multiplication up to the number nine, but it gives you hints to make it easier. History Rock teaches mostly early American history and Science Rock gives you little lessons in biology, earth science, physics, and astronomy.
Then came the first jukebox that was placed in the Palais Royale Saloon in 1889 in San Francisco. A few years later in 1890 the radio was intruded which is still around to this day in cars mostly. The single tape cassettes came around in 1962; two years later in 1964 came the 8-track tape. In 1975 the boom box/ghetto blaster had its days; it played a big role in movies like Do The Right Thing and Say Anything. 1978 the Sony Walkman sold more than the two hundred twenty million worldwide.
How a record player works is quite simple. A motor is somehow connected to a solid disc so that the disc is rotated at a constant speed. On top of the rotating disc (platter), The record is placed on top, with a slip mat in between. The slip mat can serve two functions. In the past to hold the record in place so that it would not rotate independently of the platter. Now, however, the slip mat serves a much different function. Instead of holding the record in place, the slip mat is now used to reduce the friction between the spinning platter and the record. This way a DJ can scratch (manually move the record, usually at high speeds) the record while the platter continues to spin underneath. Once the record is rotating, a stylus glides along the grooves and picks up the vibrations, these are then converted into audible sound.
These tapes are perfect for lots of reasons, especially in the work place. Many jobs have made it a need that all employees must have non slip shoes, they aren't taking into consideration that there is tons of things the employer themselves could do to make the floor much safer.
These reels usually have a series of gears that turn the line collecting devices several times for each crank of the handle.
Edison decided to change the idea by using a tin foil wrapped metal cylinder instead of the paper. The final cylinder phonograph had 2 diaphragm and needle units. One would be for recording date and the other would be for playing it. For the machine to work, one would have to speak into a mouthpiece and the sound vibrations would be imprinted on the cylinder. Then the recording needle would create some sort of groove pattern on the cylinder. The data can then played by back by the data from the created grooves.

When it comes to recording in a modern day environment DAW’s (digital audio workstation) are an essential piece of equipment if professional standard results are desired. Although DAW’s are considered a modern technological advancement the first attempt at a DAW was in 1977 and it came from Dr. Tom Stockham’s Soundstream (See references for full description) digital system. It had very powerful editing capabilities and for its time a very advanced crossfader but was still primitive compared to today’s standard. At this moment there are 100’s of DAW’s on the market but arguably there some obvious leaders. Avid’s Pro Tools has been the go to DAW for any professional studio for the past 20 years and although there have been rumors of Avid going out of business and the features in Pro Tools becoming dated, Pro Tools is still a viable option for studios worldwide. Logic Pro has risen to the fore-front of the industry in recent years due to its easy to use interface that is possible of producing professional results. Ableton Live strays away from a hardware instrument music environment to cater for electronic music users. Audio to MIDI is a main focus along with the critically acclaimed Max for Live used for live performances by many current EDM artists. Each individual DAW has its own pros and cons and comparing these can highlight which DAW is the best for what task.

The head is mounted in a “slipper” (or holder) positioned above the disk at 0.5-2.5 microns from the surface. When the disk is revolving around its axis, an air current creates a velocity gradient with the surface and air.
