Why is Higher Education expensive?

I. Introduction
A. Attention Getter – How many of you think that higher education is expensive?
1. For the people who agreed that it is expensive, what can we as students do to decrease the cost of education?
B. Credibility Statement – The tuition prices are rising quickly because taxes and other expenses are constantly increasing.
C. Thesis Statement – The cost of education should be more affordable so that everyone can succeed in life.
D. Relevance Statement – Acting Dean John T. Dunlop told The Crimson, the student newspaper.”From now on, unless inflation is halted, there’s no choice in the matter but to continue raising tuition.”1

The history of Higher education started with nine colleges which modeled after institutions in Europe.
1. This model would follow and revise years based on governance, finance, curriculum, and etc.
2. In 1790, the development of Emergent Nation Era made colleges see sustained growth, also new colleges were founded.2
C. Higher Education degree qualifications take normally up to four years to complete.
1. Higher Education is a level where you are required to work in the professional field.3
2. It offers a number of qualifications ranging from Higher National Diplomas and Foundation Degrees to Honor Degrees and as further steps, Postgraduate programmes such as Master Degrees and Doctrates.3
D. Transition Statement – Now that you know more about Higher Education, let’s expound on some points as to why the expensive cost of tuition would hinder people from pursing an education.
II. How does Higher Education hinder a person from pursing an education?
A. Higher Education is expensive but yet the people of the world are expected to be the next great leaders of the world.
