4. In order to provide semi-accurate response, I wanted to try and take the Big Five test as Helen and Mary using the information I had provided from the article. The results are not 100% accurate to what I think their traits are, but it was interesting to see how they compare. Helen: • Extraversion - moderate: Helen as a CEO has to be very extraverted or at least be very good at pretending to be extraverted. She is very motivated by awards and respect/admiration from others, which puts her in the higher extraversion percentage, however, she doesn't seem to strike to find new friends and relationships don't seem as important to her. When she makes a decision about anyone in the company she think how it will affect the rest. She missed the opportunity to keep Adrienne from leaving the company after Tom. However, I cannot blame her for that because (1) she doesn’t know why Adrienne wanted to leave in the first place, and (2) even if Adrienne was following Tom’s steps, Mary wouldn’t have known about it because employees at Sambian do not trust managers, so they do not tell them anything about their personal life and relationships at work. The Big Five emerged from the work of multiple independent scientists/researchers starting in the 1950s who using different techniques obtained similar results. In the Open-Mindedness personality section, my percentile is a 7. I’m more close-minded, meaning I tend to be conventional, down to earth, narrow interests, uncreative, and I prefer traditional and familiar experiences. In the Conscientiousness personality section, my percentile is an 87. I’m more conscientiousness, meaning I am reliable, well-organized, self-disciplined, careful; reliable, well-organized, self-disciplined, careful, very well-organized, and can be relied upon. When it comes to the Extraversion personality section, my percentile is a 7. I’m introverted, meaning I tend to be shy, reserved, inhibited, quiet, and I probably enjoy spending quiet time alone. When it comes to the Agreeableness personality section, I scored a 78. I tend to be agreeable, meaning I tend to be good natured, sympathetic, forgiving, and courteous. My score on extraversion was 22, low again compared to the norm. For this trait, I agreed with my results at first, but after some thinking I realized although I am introverted, I do behave extravertly sometimes. In general, I prefer working alone, staying indoors, and I don’t like being around a lot of people. For example, when given a group project, I’d prefer working on my own. Yet most of the time, I end up being the group leader because I get along well with people and am usually optimistic. Basically, I prefer settings with less people, but I can mingle well with strangers at parties or functions. Most of my friends and myself included, would say I am extraverted because I make friends easily and am usually very happy and cheerful. There has yet to be any determining evidence defines the characteristics of extraversion. The experimenters in this particular experiment have hypothesized that the facets of extraversion are somehow linked by reward sensitivity. This hypothesis was also tested against a model in which they are linked by sociability. There has been much work on this topic in the past, beginning with the works of Jung and James in the early 20th century—to the work of Watson and Clark in 1997. And even after a century of study, they are still unable to truly define the characteristics of the extraversion dimension of personality. In the many attempts to define extraversion, Watson and Clark have defined six basic facets of the personality trait. These are: venturesome, affiliation, positive affectivity, energy, ascendance, and ambition. Researchers Depue and Collins, in 1999, also offered a more succinct depiction of the characteristics of extraversion, this only having three basic parts. The first being affiliation, the enjoyment and value of close interpersonal bonds, also being warm and affectionate. The second, agency, being socially dominant, enjoying leadership roles, being assertive and exhibitionistic, and having a sense of potency in accomplishing goals. The final facet being impuslivity, but this one has been argued upon whether it should be included at all in the characteristics of extraversion at all.

After taking the Personality tests myself the results seemed pretty accurate to what I was expecting but in some of the categorize I was a little bit shocked as well.
In the vast and detailed world of psychology, there are a variety of different tests you can participate in. For example, you can participate in aptitude, verbal or numerical reasoning, and psychometric tests. These tests assess on a variety of different situations such as: behaviors, abilities and intelligence. Personality tests, a common and favored test, measure things such as: behavioral style, opinions, motivators, personal values and career interests. Most often, people complain or disagree with the score of some areas on their personality test; however, there are no right or wrong answers. After completing this personality test and reviewing the results, I found that the overall scoring accurately described me in most areas. The purpose of the article I reviewed by Lykeridou, Gourounti, Deltsidou, Lautradis, and& Vaslamatzis (2009) was to examine women’s level of depression, perceived anxiety, and overall stress related to infertility while receiving fertility treatments. It w as hypothesized that the etiology of an infertility diagnoses wouldwill affect female’s psychological vulnerability. The variables that were looked at in the study were infertility diagnoses and psychological disturbances. The levels of infertility diagnoses used in the research were male factor infertility, female factor infertility, mixed, and idiopathic infertility. The various levels of psychological disturbances included depression, perceived anxiety, and overall fertility related stress.
After taking the test my results came as the following: openness (58%), conscientiousness (69%), extraversion (31%), agreeableness (60%), and neuroticism (10%).

I feel that this part of my personality weighs down my openness to new experiences above. I’m very careful and calculated, taking care to get things right. 3) In Extraversion I ranked very low at just 7 percent. This is probably an accurate depiction, but if you asked most people who know me they wouldn’t rank me that low. I am a quiet, thoughtful person and I prefer small groups to large crowds. I am perfectly happy spending quiet time on my own. I actually work very hard at being more outgoing and forcing myself to talk to people in social situations where I would feel more comfortable melding into the background.

The MBTI test, which is a personality test that tests the Big Five, failed to be both reliable and valid. A study found that after a five-week gap between tests, half of the people got a new type the second time (Borelli, 2017). If a person is looking to find out what personality type they are, they aren’t going to find it by taking the MBTI test. Mindy possesses many quirky personality traits, and often finds herself in perplexing situations. Mindy possesses many characteristics in which I am led to believe that she is high on extraversion. She enjoys making quality connections between her cliental and co-workers. She exhibits many traits of being high on extraversion due to the fact that she is social, affectionate, and loving. Mindy is low on conscientiousness because her life is overall disorganized, and she often shows out spurts of carelessness. Although she is organized within her professional life, she leans more towards being disorganized within the other aspects of her life.
