Christopher Columbus is a worshipped, glorified, murderer. Due to Columbus’s sense of godly superiority, millions of innocent victims faced acts so savage that for decades the facts have been concealed, and a miniscule number of people continue their ignorant mindset to the violent truth. Columbus is the start of a genocide, the beginning of the end. However, for Americans, this matters not, as they celebrate a national holiday dedicated to this criminal. The man who founded the new world is nothing more than an imposturous degenerate, and it is essential for America to own up to his monstrous acts by mourning the victims, not praising the perpetrator. Christopher Columbus is the cause of death and suffering for millions of people. Because of him, people were murdered and tortured. Women were raped and men were forced into slavery. In his journals, Columbus has even claimed to fed the children to the entourage’s dogs. America will find it impossible to continue the facade of portraying integrity and freedom while simultaneously celebrating a monster who killed and tortured innocent people. The impact Christopher Columbus had on founding America is undeniable, however, influential people are not automatically honorable people. America needs to celebrate actual heros of society, and recognize Columbus for what he was, a villain. …show more content…

There are many holidays of which that are considered memorials, and the deaths of honorable, innocent are mourned. However on Columbus day, it is as if the decades of animalistic behavior towards the Native population did not exist, and the violent white man is worshipped.
