Since 1791 the Bill of Rights has stood as the fundamental foundation of American ideals and values. One of these ideals happens to be the 2nd Amendment which is the right to bear arms. This amendment has always been guaranteed by the constitution, but has rapidly become an issue in recent American society. New government proposals have come along that background checks should be implemented to purchase ammo and large capacity ammo should be prohibited. Although, if this proposal becomes a law, it will be impractical because it infringes on the 2nd amendment, major changes will be made to almost every firearm, and it will allow people to be unprotected from criminals.

and would result in having to compensate for major changes in firearms. This is due to the fact that any weapon that holds more than ten rounds is considered a high capacity weapon. In the article on Fox News the author states, “...owners would have been required to get rid of their magazines by sending them out of state, altering them to hold no more than 10 bullets…” (Fox News). This in turn affects many popular weapons such as the AR-15 which holds 30 rounds and the glock 17 which holds 17 rounds for standard issue. Although, any weapon holding more than 10 rounds is considered high capacity, in which gun control affects almost every gun. Also, how can many of these opposers ban something they know very little about. In the video Gun Control Ted Nugent makes the claim, “ They still call magazines, clips and they still call personal defense weapons, assault weapons” (Gun Control). This is very true with many opposers and politicians such as Senator Kevin De Leon, who are debunked for their little to no knowledge of firearms. Furthermore, statistically firearms stop crime such as sexual abuse in which 200,000 cases are avoided each year by women who carry high capacity ammunition
