Argumentative Essay: The Outside Of Education In Schools

When parents think of their children going to school they think of how they are going to learn and advance. children on the other hand think of all the new things they are going to learn and what a fun experience it’ll be. Not anymore. Education today has deteriorated and is being portrayed as a common core standard education. Some say it will help students think, yet students think is difficult and irrational. Education shouldn't be a program built by the government, state or for that matter nor the president. Education should be changed in numerous ways that will help students excel in school and as well advance as citizens outside of school.

Growing up in Florida students were force to go to school under the laws and regulations of the

FCAT. If you are wondering what that is, FCAT is not a fat cat. It is more of a nightmare for the children attending public schools in Florida and other states. The FCAT is a standardize test. Ever since I could remember, my education was based on how well i performed in the FCAT practice test, and how i understood it. My education was based on passing the FCAT or the consequences would be repeating the same grade, even though I was passing every course.

Recently, in my state they eliminated the FCAT, but a new form of standardize testing curriculum began. It is today known as the Common Core Standard Education, built by our president Barack Obama; and being used in every school curriculum in the United States. I think this is outrageous! Not every student learn the same way and at the same pace. Government and states are compressing the minds and abilities of students through pointless education regimes. Do you now understand my frustration?

If i were to reconstruct an educational reform i would eliminate any testing that does not have to do with a students subject curriculum.

I would give students the freedom to learn things outside of their school environments, so that they can be able to use it in and outside of school. My educational reform will bring back elective classes that were taken away from budget cuts due to standardize testing. I would built a curriculum where all students will advance in their field subject, that will not restrain teacher nor students. Classes will be filled with hands on learning techniques and field trips will be administered to all grade

levels.

As previously stated, bringing back elective classes such as home economics, sex education, and drivers education courses will teach students learning skills that they will use in their everyday lives.

Giving students the ability to learn things outside of their school environment such as taking them to field trips, gives them the ability of hands on learning and visual learning. It also gets them out of the school environment and into a more open broad background. Subject curriculum will be based on daily articles, students background knowledge and teacher activities; learning the subject without reading numerous chapters from a textbook. As many studies have been done, gruesome testing gives students of all ages anxiety and most end up in hospitals because of it. Testing shall be minimize and will only be given to students on the things they have learned every three

months.

In this final analysis, many have to remember that educational atmospheres is not a place where children are bombarded with limitless testings, and hoarded with homework. It is not a place where government, state and nor the president of the united state can construct it. Schools should be a place where students can go learn and be able to enjoy themselves while they are doing it. It should be a place where we built our future engineers, architects, professors and doctors. Keep in mind that they are not just a statistical number on a test, but our future citizens.
