Earlier that day we had gotten into an argument. It was a silly little argument. Fought over something so trivial it doesn’t even matter now. My brother wanted to borrow something of mine. I didn’t let him because last time he borrowed something he never returned it to me. Then the accident happened and my perspective changed. I heard a scream. My sister yelled “HELP!!” I watched as what was happening was moving by me speedily, not waiting for me to catch up. It all happened in a blur as I ran out to see what happened. My brother had jumped out in front of the skid steer while it was rolling down the hill. His leg had become wedged between the van at the bottom of the hill and the skid steer fork. My mom, my sister, and I lifted my brother into the car. He felt as if he had eaten a ton of bricks. The towels were thrown into the car with haste. Then the car door slammed shut and off they dove to the hospital. The hospital is about 20 minutes away, 30 minutes with traffic. Since no one else went to the hospital with my mom we just have to take my brothers word that my mom sped. My mom said that all of a sudden he came out of shock. He started screaming louder and tried to make sense of what was happening. When they arrived at the hospital they were rushed to a room. The nurses cut off his blood soaked pants. They threw his shirt in a bag to get washed. the whole time my mom was gone with my brother my siblings and I prayed and talked. We had never had someone in our immediate family get this badly injured since my dad’s accident which was when my sister was just born and I (the oldest) was just a baby. Have you ever felt stuck? Wherever you are, it’s the absolute last place you want to be. In the book Into the Wild, Chris McCandless feels stuck just like the average everyday person may feel. Chris finds his escape plan to the situation and feels he will free himself by going off to the wild. I agree with the author that Chris McCandless wasn’t a crazy person, a sociopath, or an outcast because he got along with many people very well, but he did seem somewhat incompetent, even though he survived for quite some time.
Holden tries to preserve his own innocence, and the innocence of others by not letting go of childhood memories and through his desire to suspend time. But it took eight years and more than $300,000 for the district to win its case.The reason behind Ellery not being fired on the first place was due to the advantages of her teacher tenure. Teacher tenure is compelling students to study under a bad teacher who does not have skill set to teach well and he/she still will be in job because of the tenure. Despite giving security to teachers,teacher tenure must go through a massive reform so that the good teachers will still there without any complication Not to forget teachers like Ellery hardly ever lectured, gave baffling assignments, belittled students and ignored repeated efforts by the high school principal to get her to improve. However, like what happened with Juliet Ellery, who was defended despite having over 400 evidences against her, there are many cases similar where teachers who need to be sack are protected by teacher tenure.

Fear and prejudice accusations, the victimizing of innocent people, and America’s reliance on the government to render justice and its inability to do so are three vital details of comparison between The Crucible and this historic event.

In order to be a good person, you have to do good and moral things in your society consistently. The passion for the game and the aspiration to compete has brought athletes to the intensity of intercollegiate sports. The industry of college athletics started as a chance to have a hobby outside of school. Playing a sport was always for recreational reasons back in the late eighteen hundreds until the mid nineteen hundreds when athletics more serious. The level of competition and the urge to be better than everyone created a game that grabbed attention from society. In order to keep control on how intercollegiate sports progressed in the early nineteen hundreds, the National Collegiate Athletic Association was created. Now that athletes and how the sports are being played has changed drastically, problems within the laws and regulations of the NCAA have risen. College sports has become more than a hobby, contracts are involved, there are millions of viewers, and billions of dollars being made off the athletes. The complexity of the NCAA and the issue of why college athletes should be paid or not paid, gives many people the purpose to research and find a solution for both the hard working, exploited athletes, and the National Collegiate Athletic Association. NCAA Division I Athletes should receive another type of compensation other than an athletic scholarship by allowing endorsement payments, should receive valuable medical coverage, and be expected to either graduate or excel during the academic year by allowing more time to concentrate on academics .

At the age of fourteen, I had my first puff of a cigarette. After school, a couple friends and I were wandering in a small park next to my middle school. We still had our middle school uniform on, but we tried to hide it. My friend said, “Renee, try it. Try it! It feels good! We all did it except you. If you don 't do it, you are not part of us.” Under peer pressure, I grabbed the cigarette from her hand and inhaled deeply. I coughed so hard. However, I liked it. I really liked it. The minty taste lingered in my throat, the aftertaste was bittersweet, and the spike of adrenaline really woke me up, and made me feel alert. I ended up finishing the whole cigarette. Our uniforms and fingers were stained with the scent of the cigarette. My friend passed me a bottle of perfume and said, “Spray it! So your mom will not notice anything.” We went to the nearest restroom to wash our hands. I tried to get rid of the smell. It took forever to get rid of the smell in my hair and clothes and skin, but after lots of hand soap and walking around I was able to get rid of it. I loved the feeling the cigarette gave me at the time, however now I deeply regret the decision to try that first puff.
