I was in the bushes. Spying on colonists is not easy, almost all of the others were caught. “There is no way the Americans will win this war!” I thought. I was watching Washington and his army. The colonists had nothing on us, they had no shoes and had very little supplies. Washington repeatedly asked congress for help, but they didn’t seem to care. On the other hand we had huge muskets, and a thriving army. We had mercenaries and loyalists that would never give up, and we had shoes. I hated to think of the Americans winning the war, but it was a definite possibility. We were having a hard time convincing people we needed to win. The colonists had more loyalty than our soldiers and were getting a huge supply from our other enemies. “You spoiled your best chance to help us win! Are you crazy!?” I hesitated before replying, “It was a mistake sir, i’m sorry.” “Get out of here! Go back to spy on the Americans, they could be plotting something right now!” It was a holiday, and I didn’t think there was any reason to be spying now, but I had been given orders. I rode on my horse as close as I could get to the American camp and walked the rest of the distance. Washington stepped on a boulder and yelled, “we will now surprise the British regulars in Trenton and win the battle with our new strategies!” What!? The colonists were about to take Trenton and no military was prepared! After they were all gone I ran as fast as I could… right into a mud puddle. I got out of the puddle and climbed onto my horse looking like a chocolate bar and rode away. There was a small problem, I had to cross a river and my horse was a very slow swimmer. I climbed off my horse and swam through the ripping current. By the time I got to the other side I was a freezing, but no longer a chocolate
