This Isn’t The Jungle Book In the past couple years it has become a trend where the upper class like celebrities and musicians buy exotic animals such as tigers, monkeys, and cheetahs. Some may find this to be a tough topic to tackle because it is their right to own such animals; however, it deprives the animal of a greater life. Despite other opinions I believe that the rich should not be allowed to own these exotic wild creatures; animals deserve to be free just as man does. The first discussion on hand when talking about why exotic pets should be illegal is that they are unsafe for the human to be around. As I do agree that people should be safe, I also am looking out more for the animal than the person. It was the person's choice to buy the exotic animal knowing the consequences that may be at hand. For instance a cheetah is suppose to be running at speeds of sixty miles per hour in a vast amount of land killing bulky gazelles. Once you put that cheetah on a leash, it no longer can run free, nor kill gazelles. This topic is just like owning a big dog. Most people recommend having a little bit of land for them to run and play on; however, a dog doesn't run sixty miles per hour across miles and miles of land.

Across america there has been thousands of animal get out of their cage to run freely among people. Once the animal has interaction with these people, they usually harm or kill them. This has been known for big snakes to get out to strangle humans, and also for when big cats or monkeys get out to maul people. Once the animal is finally found in the city after this, the animal is not captured to be put in another cage. It is shot on the spot to insure it doesn't happen again. Right after that the owner is at fault and has his license to own such animals taken
