While searching for additional facts about the Ebonics Controversy I came across the Ebonics Timeline on pbs.org. This timeline lists the many important events that took place concerning the Ebonics controversy. One important event that was not included in the lecture was in 1992 Ernie Smith advocates Ebonics as something other than English. On January 16, 1997 the state of Texas calls for additional research and information to resolve educational problems confronting African American students. Another important event was on January 23, 1997 were there was a senate hearing that took place on Ebonics.
