Climate Change

The issue of climate change has constantly been moving in and out of our government’s agenda for quite some time now. The cause of this fluctuation may be due to changes in public opinion, certain oppositions within Capitol Hill or certain issues are prioritized more than this very matter. Despite these realities, climate change has continuously remained on the news. Furthermore, recent extreme weather patterns certainly exhibit the detrimental effects of climate change. The damaging effects of climate change can be very harmful to infrastructure, agriculture and most importantly, the lives and health of individuals. In order to combat the damaging consequences of rising temperatures and severe weather, our government must implement effective legislation that lowers our country’s carbon footprint, lessening our nation’s impact. Those surveyed and asked if there is a solid evidence for the rise in temperatures, 43% of those who identified themselves as Republicans answered no (as opposed to the 16% of the Democrats who answered no) (Christopher Borick).
