Avengers: Unbiased Heroes or Prejudiced Humans “Maybe I am a monster … I don't think I would know if I were one. I'm not what you are, and not what you intended. So, there may be no way to make you trust me”. Why does Vision say this words to the rest of the Avengers? Most of the Avengers are humans who have either exceptional skills or own a superpower. However, when it comes to superheroes who do not belong to the human race, certain issues are brought to light. Bruce Banner –the human face of Hulk– is a brilliant scientist who, unlike his teammates, looks weak and awkward. He is a helpful ally of the good gang, but his character is depicted as an unsafe animal. Once he transforms into Hulk, he becomes a brainless green giant monster. His team knows what he is capable of once he transforms, and they seem to be frightened of him. For example, after the attack to the HYDRA base, Black Widow tries to calm him down in order to return him to his human appearance; even though she performs the lullaby that calms him down, she still looks frightened of his monster side. But his colleagues are not the only ones who do not trust him completely. Because his transformation relies on his change of emotions, Banner does not trust himself either. He prefers to isolate himself and focus on science tasks, like when he and Tony Stark worked together to create Ultron, in order to remain emotion-free.
