Autism is a disorder that affects people all over the world. The full name for the disorder is Autism Spectrum disorder and its effects vary from person to person. There are different severities of the disorder that range from Asperger syndrome all the way to severe Autism Spectrum disorder. The main challenge presented by autism is impaired social interaction for the people dealing with autism. For instance, children with autism often times have to be placed in special needs classrooms because they are unable to function and interact with other children in a normal classroom setting. It is also important to keep up with the medical research because they seem to be finding and approving new treatments quite often. The most important part is finding out what is best for the individual and going from there.

The spectrum of the disorders ranges from a mild condition called Asperger’s syndrome to a more severe form, which severely impairer’s development. ASD emerges in all age, ethnic and socioeconomic groups. The significant varied character and severity of the disorder is why ASD is considered a spectrum that poses a broad range of symptoms.
Every year doctors diagnose thousands of adults and children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Due to the growing awareness of autism and recent developments in technology, scientists and doctors can now discover and observe the effects of autism on society, and people. Starting with its discovery, researchers have been able to diagnose people more effectively. Doctors are beginning to discover what causes this disorder, and are currently trying to find ways to prevent and treat it. Many places have opened their doors to people with this disorder, creating autistic friendly environments where people are patient and understanding. Schools have also become accommodating to autistic children and adults. Autism also puts great strain on family and home lives.

In conclusion Autism is a disability with many different levels .Autism affects different people in different from high functioning to low functioning. All Autistic people just want to be treated as true real people. There is no cure or treatment for autism but the best cure is the cure of love. Showing them that they are equal real people and treating them as such. Having autism just means you learn different or develop slower but it doesn’t make you unequal. ( Autism Spectrum , 2009 ). Kids with autism usually show signs within the first three years. Signs can be difficult to notice at first even though a child with autism has it at birth. Children at a young age might not be interested in simple common games such as peek a boo, and may not like to be held. They also may seem to have problems with their hearing ability. The child may not seem to be able to hear you and does not respond, but when hearing a distant noise like a truck or train, this will get their attention immediately. Teens with autism seem to start changing their behavior. They may seem to excel in certain skills but with that their ability to understand and relate to others expressions. They also seem to have more of an issue understanding and going through things with emerging sexuality and puberty.
Nowadays, the most common treatments for Autism is behavioral therapy. ABA therapy is a very common technique used. (Simpson) The children with Autism are taught general social skills. One way this is taught is through modeling social behaviors to them and teaching them to imitate it.
This can include things that they hear on a normal basis, like commercials or songs. Uneven language development is one of the biggest red flags that indicate ASD. Besides this, the autism is also treated with the help of medications like inhibitors and anticonvulsants. These medications and use to alleviate the symptoms and to keep the disease in control. It also helps to prevent the development of other ailments associated with the autism. However, these medications besides their effectiveness have very serious side effects. Autism is characterized as a developmental disorder that is seen in children by the age of three years old. Autism affects the brains normal, natural development, and causes many impairments. The major impairments that affect an individual are reciprocal socialization, Qualitative impairment in communication, and repetitive or unusual behavior. Signs of Autism can be seen in early infanthood, with proper awareness and resources. An infant child can appear to be adverse to eye contact early on. Some signs in early infancy appear as being indifferent to affection and physical contact. When spoken to, they can appear to be deaf or ignoring the parent or caregiver. Noticing the early red flags of Autism can provide an early intervention and give the child the best chance at learning to tolerate their environment. Children around three years old will display certain signs and symptoms.
Parents need to do early check-up for their children. Watch out for the red flags that rise up to let you know there’s a problem. There are “three criteria’s of Autism, 1) failure to develop normal social interactions, 2) no abnormal development of language, particularly the use of
