Romeo & Juliet Argument Essay
The deaths of Romeo and Juliet were tragic misfortunes caused by a number of variables that included an ancient family feud, miscommunication, bad decisions, and many more. Various factors contributed to the provocation of their actions. Some people may infer that Capulet is at fault. Many others may believe it was Montague. However due to bad decisions, irresponsibility, and imprudence Friar Lawrence should be appointed responsibility for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet’s.
To start off, Friar Lawrence made the mistake of giving Juliet a “fake-death” potion. This exposes the friar’s irresponsibility because he had trusted an emotionally unstable teenager with a risky concoction. Friar Lawrence knew it was a risky plan because he knew that if he didn’t give her the vial she’d kill herself. Juliet emphasizes that she’d commit suicide in the quote, “Do thou but call my resolution wise, And with this knife I’ll help it presently.” (4.3.54-55).
