Nature surpasses nurture is what I read in this article studied in psychology. Based on this information explained given on this topic we have physical, mental and behavioral characteristics wired on since before birth. The Nativist believe that we are predominantly given these tendencies due to are genetic code and the product of evolution. Some characteristics and differences not observed at birth are due later in maturation with help of our biological clock ticking inside of us. This biological clock is pre-programmed to switch on and off on our given time to do so. Most of our behaviors due to our environment, just like the way we eat, was taught from our parents. We are prone to grow and learn from our surroundings, the product of our culture and values that are instilled in us. For example, how the Nazi’s believed that they could manipulate genetics by creating the perfect race. The German Nazi believed that by controlling and killing off other races they ultimately keep their race perfect and superior. The environmentalist also think that the minority race is prone to lower IQ because of differences in our social inequalities. How the poor stay inferior to the more privileged because of the deficient resources we are denied of. I did not feel like we were poor or missing anything not needed because my dad and mom made sure we had our necessities covered. Growing up on our neighborhood was so much fun, we had all types of ethnicities and families surrounding us. I don’t feel we were deprived of much maybe just a better education. My brother and I were put on gifted classes since we were in first grade and our schools didn’t have the means and teachers didn’t helped much. My parents couldn’t afford sending us to better schools so we feel we weren’t challenge enough and this affected our educational growth. I guess this really took a toll on me and I decided not to pursue my abilities on the other side my brother went on to USC and graduate from CSUN. I believe that my parents didn’t help me or push me to succeed, and continue with school because I was a girl. Their mentality was old fashioned and wanted me to be a housewife and learn what my mother had learned from young. Now I’m trying to break that cycle with my own daughters and teach them they could be successful in every humanly
