Conspiracy theories have been the absolute greatest way to break away from the intense realities of the truth. Conspiracy is defined as an agreement to perform together an illegal, wrongful, or subversive act. Conspiracy theories can be created around almost any event, tragedy or situation. These theories are not just a recent phenomenon either, they have been around all throughout humanity but with technology currently it has been a lot easier to spread around these theories. There are many people out there who feel discomfort from certain theories but for other people, these brilliant theories are fascinating. For myself, Area 51 conspiracy theories are extremely intriguing and stimulating. Area 51 is a highly classified Air force Base that has been the focal point of alien conspiracy theories in American for decades. In the 1950s US planes were conducting missions over the USSR but they feared of being caught and shot down. So, in 1954 “President Eisenhower authorized the development of a top secret high altitude recon aircraft called Dubbed Project Aquatone which started the spark of Area 51” (Webster, 2013). This was also a great location because it was located deep in the dessert hidden from civilization. …show more content…
It is patrolled by armed guards carrying M16s and there are even trespassing signs stating, “Use of deadly force authorized”. Many citizens try to come close to the main base but fail. Area 51 is strictly guarded and cut off from the public which sparks tremendous suspicion. What actually happens inside of the famous Area 51 site has led to many years of wild speculation. The main theory is known as if any flying saucers have ever crashed on Earth, the wreckage and alien bodies have been secretly taken to the restricted
Conspiracy theories are entertaining for many to speculate and demand a great deal of thought to constitute. A conspiracy theory is defined as the idea that many important political, economic, and social trends are the products of secret plots that are largely unknown to the general public (“The Definition of Conspiracy Theory”). Many conspiracy theories are thought up around children’s shows, which offers a feeling of nostalgia and pleasure. A few children’s show conspiracies that need a deeper light shone on them are from Max & Ruby (2002-2013), Winnie the Pooh (1977), Rugrats (1990-2004), and All Grown Up (2003-2008).
Located 90 miles north of Las Vegas sits a high-security military base widely known as Area 51. For decades people have had suspicions about whether or not alien life forms exist and if so, whether or not they are imprisoned at Area 51. This curiosity has been fueled by not only interest in extraterrestrials, but also reported sightings of foreign life forms not from planet Earth. The conspiracies, other life forms exist and are being kept at military base, have largely been fueled by the government’s involvement in nearly all reported sightings. Area 51 not only has discovered other forms of life from outer space but also is most likely conducting strange experiments there.
This paper will prove it will remain unknown if the Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) crash sighting at Roswell, New Mexico on July 4th, 1947 did happen, although the government is hiding Extraterrestrial information there. The following is a list of terms that may become confusing to some readers.
Conspiracy theories accuse others of a cover up by secret planning. They may be based on a hunch or even backed by evidence. To the curious mind, they bring about unanswered questions that have attracted the attention of many people throughout history. Among some of the more popular theories are the assassination of President John F. Kennedy; the death of Princess Diana; alien encounters in Roswell, New Mexico; and the idea that Elvis may still be alive. Perhaps the most intriguing theory, because of our neighboring location, is the underground bunker and seemingly strange characteristics at the Denver airport.
There is no doubt that an elaborate underground base exist below the Denver International Airport. What actually is going on down below in this base however is a mystery. When taking a closer look at this airfield it is evident that something weird is going on. “While the most extreme claim maintains that a massive underground facility exists below the airport where an alien race of reptilian humanoids feeds on missing children while awaiting the date of government-sponsored rapture” (Maher 4). This extreme claim just shows what the human mind can conceive when coincidence and the unknown meet. The research is done, is there a conspiracy or is it just being blown out of proportion.
In researching this and many other conspiracy theories, one can see many uses of sensationalism, mainly by the media. This media- the news (local and national), magazines, tabloids, television shows, movies, and so on- has a huge effect on people who are exposed to it.... ... middle of paper ... ... Area 51 was a top secret military base, located in southern Nevada at 37 degrees 14’06”N, 115 degrees 48’40”w. The base was also used by the CIA.Colonel hugh “slip” slater,87, was the commander in the 1960’s. Area 51 was used as a test site mainly for the military. It was a restricted area where military and CIA personnel can only access the base. In often term it is called “R-4808N or the box”.
The creation of Area 51 began in April of 1955, when a Lockheed test pilot, Tony LeVier, searched for a remote site to test the U-2. Grooms Lake is chosen as the location for the runway. By August of 1955, the U-2 makes its first flight from Grooms Lake. That was only the beginning for test flights from Area 51. In April 1962, the first A-12 Blackbird was tested at Groom Lake. February 1982, the F-117A Stealth fighter takes off for the first time. All other test flights have not been released to the public, but that doesn't mean they don't occur. However, they are, in no way, shape or form, alien test flights. Nearly all of the evidence that supports the alien spacecraft theory, is without backing, or solid information. Also, the US government played on the UFO theories to hide their own testing plans. Today, Area 51 is the home to the latest top secret aircraft: the Aurora, among others Many of these aircraft, past and present, are able to perform incredible feats in the sky. Some so unbelievable, that they could be mistaken for alien spacecraft by fanatics of extra-terrestrials. However, based on the falsified eye-witness accounts of Area 51, and declassification of military spy planes like the U-2 and F-117A Stealth fighter, I am here to tell you that these flights are not alien crafts, but actually secret military aircraft.
It is hard to believe that a country founded on honesty, hard work, and good morals is involved with lies, deception, and manipulation. Since birth, as U.S. citizens, there has always been an underlying theme to accept things as is. Questioning the way society runs has never been popular. There are very few who actually go against the grain and offer inquisitions when they suspect things are differently than they appear. Rather than dismaying the skeptics or completely trusting the media, everyone should examine the facts individually and question the amount of government involvement and distorted truth in the American people's lives- and particularly in Sandy Hook on December 14, 2012.
Ever look up at the sky and just wonder if there is life anywhere else? Have you seen anything in the sky that is almost unexplainable? What if your thoughts really came true? The thought of the existence of aliens seems to have been around since the beginning of time. There is one incident in particular that really hits home when talking about the subject, the UFO incident of Roswell, New Mexico.
Area 51 first became popular in the 1950’s when it was created, and shortly after when many UFO sightings were reported there. Area 51 was created by the U.S. Government as a place to test top secret military weapons, especially military aircraft (“Groom Lake Air Force Base - Area 51”). It is located in a remote part of the desert in Nevada. None of the public is allowed inside of area 51 and no one knows what truly exists inside the gates, and what the government and the military are hiding in there. The government has dismissed most of these claims as testing aircraft and other weapons, but there are some that have never been solved and still remain a mystery today. People have often speculated what is inside and what exactly goes on inside the gates, but no one really knows, except the people who have worked there and are sworn to secrecy. Many believe that the UFOs seen near Area 51 and across the United States are U-2 spy planes that the military was testing there, however, there are some people who think the government is hiding a major secret there from the U.S. public, that there are aliens and extraterrestrial spacecraft being stored there.
This section was given in order to show why conspiracy theories are appealing to the average person and how anybody can create one. Next, research data on the general personality and mental state of conspiracy theorists was introduced with believers being more likely to be cynical and have low self-worth (Koerth-Baker 343). Afterward a brief explanation is given on the amygdala, a part of the brain which activates after fear is felt, and how it is crucial to the creation of the various theories we have today. There has also been research showing a correlation between theorizing and strong support of democratic principles due to the fact that conspiracy theories wouldn’t exist without real conspiracies coming to light (Koerth-Baker 344). Then, Koerth begins to talk about how an abundance of available knowledge on the internet has made destroying conspiracy theories even more difficult due to the constant use of confirmation bias. In 2006 scientists discovered an event called the “backfire effect” where any attempts to debunk a theory makes it more popular to the people, but the effect seems more noticeable when it supports a worldview or ideology (Koerth-Baker
Since the beginning of settled civilizations, people have had more mutual sharings than ever before. By the same token, there have been some conspiracy theories that are usually against the culturally accepted beliefs of religions, science and society. A conspiracy theory can be described so differently. However, as in his text, Marshall Brain explicates, a conspiracy is generally defined as a theory seeking to explain a disputed case or matter as a plot by a secret group or alliance rather than an individual or isolated act (Brain). Especially, after the new media has become quite popular, more and more conspiracies are theorized every single day, which aim to catch society’s attention via such media tools as the internet, journals and newspapers. Thus, people who theorize those conspiracies tend to use such objects as spiritual and mysterious ones in order to interest people. To illustrate, many examples can be given. For instance, many people have claimed that they were abducted by aliens, although they could show no evidences. Here, a citation from Blackmore could facilitate to understand the circumstance better. She states that people occasionally claim that they have been abducted from public places by aliens, in this case that may provide them with witnesses and affirmations but no evidence could be shown so far (Blackmore). As it is well known, only a small number of people believe such alien abductions, however, rating of this kind of news is quite high on media, because humankind has been wondering if there are extraterrestrial creatures out of the earth. Another example can be conspiracy theories which are about the origins of religions such as the rejection of Jesus Christ. There are some people who pay attention to...
Most people today believe area 51 is where the government store, and do research on the “alien ships”. Because of its high security, warning signs, and even to the black armored trucks with armed men watching your every move as you approach the signs that say “ no one without a high security clearance can go beyond this point” It has been the main focus of the alien theories. But what about the other bases? Such as, Pine Gap (Australia), Kapustin Yar (Russia), HAARP Research Station (Alaska), Porton Down (UK), and most recently the Dulce bases (A.K.A.) Area 52. All of these bases you can find loads of information on except for the new Dulce base. Was area 51 a cover up for the real Alien base? “There is no concrete evidence to this day about Dulce. It is alleged to be located near the Colorado-New Mexico border town of Dulce. Why can we not locate it? Because it is located underground. Completely Secluded area under the Archuleta Mesa” (Top 5 secret). While there is little to no information on this base, there are a few articles that support the Dulce base is the “secret” that the government has been trying to hide away from society for many years. One of the many reasons they may be hiding this “operation” is because there is new found evidence of an “alien” race that is native to Earth and that has been here all
Whether or not the Roswell incident truly involved a UFO remains unclear. How ever, the military cover-up only served to fuel the fire of our imaginations. Interest continues to grow, as questions remain unanswered. Even Bill Clinton has been quoted as saying “…If the United States Air Force did recover alien bodies, they didn’t tell me about it either, and I want to know”(qtd. in Wright 105).
