Is never trying anything new in fear of failure a good thing? Thousands of people around the world only do what they are good at instead of trying something new. I agree with Ralph Waldo Emerson's statement "Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow" because new experiences can help people learn new skills, meet new people, and change a person's attitude or character. New experiences can help people learn new skills that they might enjoy or treasure over what they have already mastered. Each attempt at something that is not previously mastered gives a person many new skills they can use to attempt to fix a problem or use in a situation. If he was just starting to learn how to patch tires, but also was a master at juggling, his juggling skills would be very unhelpful where as his new and mediocre experience at fixing a tire would help more. While learning new skills is an important benefit to new experiences, new experiences can also help someone to meet more people. Trying something new also increases the number of people a person meets. When only performing the skills that have been already mastered such as a painter only painting, instead of accounting or another skill, the painter will tend to only meet the people in the studio they go to. However, if the painter tries something they are unfamiliar with, they will likely meet more people at the other office or through new customers. This is beneficial because these new people could become a close friend or someone to support on, and make a humongous impact in a person's life. These new people could be found through a change in hobby or even profession, and could change a person's attitude and way they act towards someone. In addition, new experiences promote an improvement in character. When trying something that a person does not already know how to do, it is guaranteed that they are not going to excel at the
