Apollo is the son of Zeus and Leto, in Greek mythology he is considered one of the most famous and important gods. He is the god of many different things such as music, poetry, art, oracles, archery, plague medicine, sun, light and knowledge. He was born on the Greek island of Delos with his twin sister the goddess of hunt Artemis. Apollo had a daily job which was to ride chariot in order to move the sun in the sky. Which is why although he is the god of many things is most well known for being the god of the sun. Objects that are usually associated with Apollo are a silver bow, a laurel branch, a Kithara or a lyre, and a palm tree. It is located on Mt. Parnassus and was considered one of the two homes of Apollo. Apollo had once battled a python in Delphi which then led to the beginning of the Pythian games in honor of him killing the serpent. Although most who went to Delphi was to visit the oracle of Apollo who was very famous in all of the Greek world. There the oracle of priestess would answer any question that one would have. This was not a fast process as sometimes it would take days before the oracle would answer.
I like Apollo because not only is he the god of the sun he is also the god of many other things. Also he is one of the sons of Zeus the god lightning and all other gods. I also think it is quite interesting that in Greek mythology there are good and evil with gods, such as Apollos uncle Hades who was the god of the underworld. Which is why I also chose Apollo as I think he is very talented and helpful to people also. He was also the god of healing and helped bring medicine to men, which no other gods could do. He is also very athletic and is also a warrior, I find it very interesting that he played such a big role in the Trojan War. He was the one who was able to kill Achilles who till then was considered one of the greatest Greek warriors.
