Symbol: A Symbol is defined as something that represents something else. An example of this can be seen in things that represent us as people. For instance, names is a good example and represents who you are. Also, it should be noted that symbols are arbitrary, since symbols have no necessary connection to what they represent. God Term: God terms which fall under the branch of ultimate terms carry the greatest blessing in a culture and demand sacrifice or obedience. Powerless Language: The example used in the text defines this term as when people prevent themselves from being persuasive, by mumbling words such as “um” and being nervous can cause the perception of powerless language . Aphorism: This concept is about sayings, maxims, and adages that offer advice. They can be most likely be found in economics, politics, religion, science, and of course everyday life. In the text when the examples of the words “ guarantees that 200 of the 600 people will be saved” and then we are presented with the second version “guarantees that 400 people of the 600 people will die”.
