When an animals is given possibly harmful substances and used as test subjects are experiments that may harm them, then animal cruelty is present. For example, "extremely cautious chemicals are placed in the eyes of defenseless rabbits." This primitive testing method tends to kill of around half of the animals forced to participate. These tests are preformed on animals to ensure it's safety for human consumption. In addition, many scientist tend to depend on this method of animal testing. "More than one hundred million animals are killed in US laboratories." This includes rats, pigs, rabbits, birds, mice, reptiles, monkeys, fish, and many more. Furthermore, many of these innocent creatures are forced to inhale toxic fumes which lead to death, immobility, or burns on their skin. These tactics are clearly inhuman and are obvious violations of animal cruelty. Confined to cages they are isolated which causes psychological trauma. If these test were preformed on humans their would be a global outrage, why should animals have to suffer for our selfish benefit? Multiple test are preformed on the animal test subjects to confirm their safety for people to use the product. For example, Dermal Penetration, Acute Toxicity, and Draize Eyes are different types of tests used on the animal test subjects. Each tests determines how the product will react to each body part it is placed on. The Draize Eye test is performed on the eyes of rabbits to evaluate the damage the chemicals can cause. In addition, each one of these test leave the animal test subject in exc... ... middle of paper ... ...nuing to profit from the substaining usage of animals in scientific laboratories, the tradtional method is difficult to dispose of. The method is kept for the currency but fails to produce major reliable success as those of the alternative methods. A statisict shown in Safer Medicines Trust states, "that nindy-two percent of drugs fail in clinical trials, having successfully passed through animal studies." These corportaions care more about the amount of money profited than the reliablitily of the results from animal testing. With new alternatives and methods for the contribution the humanity the traditional style of animal testing is unessesary. With these new developments the lives of millions of animals can be spared from death and abuse. Scientsist can perform more reliable products without the hassle of failing the clinical tests with thier animal experiments.
