The activation of men’s sexual organs would be androgen hormones. Androgens are a major contributor in male’s sexual hormones. Testosterone is the most commonly known active and abundant androgen hormone. Androsterone is an inactive androgen that is made by the metabolism of testosterone and is developed in the male testes. Androgens have the ability to influence several different actions and desires within men. Usually, androgens are known as the masculine hormones although they are also found in women as well. Although not an androgen, many studies observe cortisol along with androgens because cortisol is a response to stress, also known as the "get-up-and-go" hormone. It gives men bravery to overcome challenges to reach their goals. It appears that men pride themselves in having high levels of androgens because it makes a man, a “macho man.” But what happens to androgen levels when these masculine men are exposed to situations in which they are expected to act graciously? What happens to these levels when they are preforming a task that is thought of as un-masculine? For instance, do androgen hormones levels rise or fall when men are in a relationship or become fathers? It is hypothesized that androgen levels would be lower in men who are in a committed relationship and/or in men who are fathers. Perhaps this is caused by the stress obtained or lack thereof from being in a relationship or from being a father. In this paper, we will discuss the effects of stress on men and their androgen levels, determine how being in a committed relationship can effect androgen levels, determine whether or not sexual orientation is a factor in these effects, and lastly we will be looking at how being a father or desiring to be a father can effe...

...ly, many hypotheses were examined in this study and it is unclear what exactly this difference was. The data did not show whether it was heterosexual men or homosexual men who had an effect, if any, on androgen levels while in a relationship. It is clear in both studies that sexual orientation does have an effect on androgen levels in men who are in relationships. Perhaps this is due to the fact that men cannot reproduce with another man and know that they cannot naturally achieve a child in a homosexual relationship. It is possible that sub-consciously these men are still looking for a mate who can fulfill their ultimate goal of reproducing. Unfortunately, not much study has gone into detail about the effect of sexual orientation on androgen levels of men in relationships. On the contrary, many studies have been made about the effects of androgen levels in fathers.
An article entitled “How Boys Become Men,” written by Jon Katz was originally published in January, 1993 in Glamour, a magazine for young women. This article details the process of a boy growing into a man and mainly focus on the lesson boys learn that effect their adult lives. These lessons are about how to hold back emotions and never appeared sensitive. The author includes examples of his own experiences as a boy to convey to the reader the challenges of growing into a man. Through the various stories of young boys, the author is trying to prove that the men are insensitive because they had to learn to hide their feelings during the stage of growing up with other boys. The purpose of the author is to explain the women of the world, why men appear to be emotionalist and “macho.” The author’s main idea of this article is to explain why men are insensitive and to help women understand why men sometimes seem “remote” and “uncommunicative.”
In the brain, “females have a larger hippocampus and a deeper limbic system than males, which allows them to feel the full range and depth of the emotional spectrum,” which makes women more emotional than men (Lorenzo Jensen III). Most women do seem much more emotional and attached than most men. Women are also better at handling stress than men are. When oxytocin is released, “during stressful events. But female estrogen combines with oxytocin to produce a calming effect” (Lorenzo Jensen III). Men and women are in fact different on an anatomical level, leaving no room for bias, science not only shows, but, prove, that women are biologically different than men in some
A man has been married to his wife for seven years. The couple has two beautiful children, a fabulous home, and appear to have the perfect marriage. After the husband leaves work one afternoon, he decides to stop in at the local bar. The man sits at a table in the corner of the room. Not long after his arrival, a woman approaches him. She asks the man if she can join him at his table. The two seem to have quite a bit in common and enjoy each other’s company. The woman asks if he would like to go back to her apartment. He has not had a fight with his wife today. In fact, she surprised him with a love note in his briefcase. Their sex life is enjoyable, frequent, and without complaint. The couple is not currently having financial problems. Despite this, why did the man decide to leave with a stranger and cheat on his wife? A great deal of research has been carried out on the topic of infidelity. Marital therapists have reported that more than half of the couples they counsel are in therapy as a result of infidelity (Atkins, Jacobson citation). Therapists also consider an extramarital affair as, “one of the most damaging relationship events and one of the most difficult problems to treat in couples therapy” (whisman predicting sexual infidelity…). Some therapists estimate that 50% to 65% of couples seek help after an incident of infidelity in their relationship (Atkins, Jacobson & Baucom). Identifying the reasons for this problem are essential to the success of its reduction. Infidelity is not a new phenomenon. However, there was little research on the topic until the late 1970’s (Drigotas & Barta, 2001). Numerous factors have been examined while trying to determine the root cause for extramarital relationships a...
All-men men were concluded to be the “least supportive, responsive, or humane.” (paragraph 10) While on the other hand, androgynous men passed with flying colors. He not only knows about the feminine culture, but takes it to the next level and become a part of it. He is one who “cuddles kittens, and bounces babies, and has a sympathetic ear for someone in distress. For a sexual partner, Gross concedes that women would prefer the jock over the friend of an androgynous man. However, the masculine man would seem to portray a person resembling your opponent, having to try to “win you over.” The androgynous man would not be an “opponent” per say, but rather your teammate. Rather than a race to finish first, to the androgynous man, sensuality is a pleasure to

Testosterone is produced by the testes of men and the ovaries of women, as well as the adrenal glands of both sexes. Correlational studies have found that higher testosterone is associated with more sexual activity, more alcohol, more aggression and more competitive ness amongst other social behaviours that humans participate in. However the investigation of testosterones influences on social behaviours has only really just begun and hence we do not know a lot about the definitive effects of testosterone.

de Vries, and Forger, (2015), use evidence from animal and human anatomies, and environmental influence, to explore the sex differences between males and females and how processes and events occurring in the body are solely due to gender. Berenbaum, and Beltz, (2011), discuss how the hormones associated with puberty and prenatal stages of life, can change the body biologically and be the main factor for individuals behaviour and out comes in their life. van Anders, and Watson, (2006), discuss in depth, several environmental influences and events in life that can have significant influences on our hormones and our biological processes inside our bodies and comparing these between males and females. There are gender differences associated with pain, with females being more vulnerable to pain.
Decreasing the level of estrogen in your body will help you get rid of excess body fat. This will also minimize the cancer risk. Estrogen is not a problem for men, high levels of estrogen also brings negative effects in women. In our daily lives, we are exposed to different chemicals and this plays a significant role in enhancing its level. Many people are not aware that chemical estrogen is found in cosmetics, shampoo plastic products, pesticides and other personal care products.

Gender roles and identity are constantly shifting throughout different societal generations. Men and woman both have notable similarities and differences in genders and they each contribute to their personalities and actions. In the past men have been viewed as a more dominant sex in society over women, both in careers, home life, and sexually, however, today women have bridged many of the gaps and society is accepting a more equal view of genders. The following examines the similarities and differences between men and woman by looking at biological characteristics, gender roles, and sexual responses.
In a lab test done on rodents at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, the estrogen receptor alpha was genetically deleted from the rodent DNA, making the rodent brain incapable of estrogen masculinization. From these labs they discovered a large decrease in masculine sexual behaviors, showing that hormone receptors are a major part of sexually dimorphic behavior (Wu, 2017). Of course not only the androgen receptors are needed for proper brain development and sexual function, but also the androgens themselves. For instance, aromatase is an enzyme that is required in males to convert testosterone into the much needed estrogen, and with the lack of aromatase, depriving the organism of estrogen, we see a decrease in male territorial behaviors.
