The Memories of Ana Calderon by Graciela Limon is a sad story. This story takes place around the early 1900's in Mexico and California. This story is about an inelegant woman who will have to overcome battles not only between society but also against her family to succeed. Ana Calderon was a woman who had will, and guts to step up for herself. She wouldn’t let anyone mess with her. She was determined to prove the those who always thought negative of her wrong. She would never give up no matter no matter how had her life got. She would always find the courage to keep pushing her life forward no matter how bad and impossible it seemed. As time went on she finally had a boy however died a couple weeks after giving birth. After Ana's mother died, her father decided to migrate to the United states with his children to give them better living opportunities. A year went on, Ana and Octavio started to fall for each other. They end up having a son named Ismael. Ana ended up raising her son on her own because, Octavio was to coward to tell Ana's father that Ismael was his son. Later Alejandra and Octavio married which lead Ana to denied Octavio to be in their son's life. Octavio's anger toward not being allowed to see his some made his decide to kidnap him. Years passed and Ana had no clue of what had happened to her son, as if the world swallowed him alive. During those years Ana married a man named Terrance Wren who was in his early twenties. Terrance was involved in a horrible plan accident and dies. Later Ana discovered that her ex-husband was her son Ismael. At a young age Octavio had gave him up for adoption, and his adopted parents had changed his
