An Introduction to Windows 2000 Professional
Reliability
Windows 2000 Professional is up to 30 percent faster and, according to National Software Testing Labs (NSTL) tests, 13 times more reliable than Windows 98. The operating system is the most reliable version of Windows ever produced.
Memory conflicts and missing or altered system files caused many of the system crashes prior to Windows 2000. To put an end to these problems, Microsoft changed Windows 2000 memory management to reduce the chance that software applications will interfere with one another. In addition, Windows 2000 includes a built-in safeguard called Windows File Protection. This feature helps prevent critical operating system files from being deleted or altered by users or applications. Industry studies show that as much as 80 percent of system failures can be traced to human errors or flawed processes. If a system file should be changed or deleted, Windows File Protection can detect the change, retrieve a correct version of the file from a cache, and restore it to the system file folder. The end user never knows the repairs have been made because Windows 2000 just keeps running ( (1)Windows).
The following is a list of improvements in Windows 2000. It should be noted that this covers the entire Windows 2000 family (Server, Advanced Server, and Professional).
• Improved Internal Architecture: Windows 2000 includes new features designed to
protect your system, such as preventing new software installations from
replacing essential system files or stopping applications from writing into the
kernel of the OS. This greatly reduces many sources of operating system
corruption and failure.
• Fast Recovery from System Failure: If your system does fail, Windows 2000
includes an integrated set of features that speed recovery.
• Improved Code with Developer Tools: Microsoft provided third-party developers
with tools and programs to improve the quality of their drivers, system level
programs, and application software. These enhancements make it easier for
independent software vendors to write dependable code for Windows 2000.
• Reduced Reboot Scenarios: Microsoft has greatly reduced the number of
operations requiring a system reboot in almost every category of OS

This ratio helps in analysing the position of the company to satisfy its short term debts within a period of one year. The higher the current ratio would be the more the company will be in position to satisfy its short term debts.
First, we will explore the concept of happiness in Aristotle’s eyes and the different perspectives in which we will be analyzing it. According to Aristotle, happiness is the highest good in which humans ultimately strive to attain. Happiness is not a state of mind but an activity. To many in modern society, happiness is mainly defined as a temporary state of mind, but for Aristotle, happiness becomes a goal that must be achieved through the course of an entire lifetime. Happiness depends on acquiring a moral character, where one displays the main virtues of courage, gene...
In order to achieve happiness one must develop a good character and good habits, thus a virtuous life is created through constant practice. Virtuous thoughts and actions lead to good habits, which in turn lead to a better character. Consequently, one achieves happiness. In conclusion, Aristotle proves that a man leading a good life uses his reason to a virtuous end. Reason, being the attribute that makes man unique, is then used to its best ultimate end.
...t virtues of character are acquired through habituation and require external goods, and that a deficit of external goods may prevent individuals from acquiring virtue. A final consequence was examined which showed that virtue is necessary but not sufficient for happiness, and that only a subset of the individuals who acquire virtue might acquire happiness. However, while this final consequence might seem problematic or counterintuitive, Aristotle offers that happiness is actually one of the most divine things and seems to suggest that our concept of ‘happiness’ in the context which makes this seem so troubling is not a fully conceived notion. That is, you can still lead a good or blessed life without happiness, but the most blessed life is a happy one.
During the early 1800s America was dealing with a cultural divide. The North and South were slowly becoming two different ways of life. As time went on certain events happened that aided to the beginning of the Civil War. After the disputes on slavery, the Missouri Compromise, and the presidential election of 1860 the war between the North and South was inevitable. The biggest difference between the North and South would be slavery.
Current Ratio measures the ability of a firm to meet its short-term (usually up to 1 year) obligations. It is a measure of Liquidity. The higher your Current Ratio is, the greater your short-term solvency. Although there are several ratios which indicate the liquidity of a company, the Current Ratio can provide us with all the information we need. To be really useful we must compare it over at least three years.
The current ratio is commonly used to indicate the company's ability to pay back its short term obligations (debt and accounts payable) with its current assets. When the ratio gets higher, the company becomes more capable of paying its obligations. A current ratio higher than one indicates that the enterprise’s
He argues upon the maxims of virtue with basis on ethics for humanity. Plato maintains that for one to attain strong virtues they must conform to general ethics and code of conducts. Th focus of moral virtues is to maintain the well-being of humanity. For the actualization of that aim, Plato maintains that conformity to moral dispositions, thought and virtues are important prerequisite in that drive. The aim is to illustrate that the maintenance of the well-being of human beings is the core of moral thinking and virtues. Plato argues for the conception of happiness as a virtue to promote peace and harmony among people of different backgrounds. However, the conception of happiness as a virtue is a counter-example to many of the thought Plato did argue for that promotes the attainment of human virtues. The reasons here are that the Plato’s argument on the conception of happiness does not conform to ordinary views that many people understand. In addition to that, the early artworks by Plato portray the conception of happiness as a negative path that bases only on metaphysical suppositions that are not easy to comprehend. Secondly, in his works as the Republic Plato portrays the virtue of happiness as only a feeling that depends on external factors hence, not easy o illustrate and even understand (Begum, & Awan, 2013). Plato presents a description for the good and best for the soul. That is the soul feels a sense of contentment when it exhibits the strongest virtues. However, these descriptions for the needs of the soul do not go together at all times as time influences everything that is valuable. For these reasons, the attainment of virtues is at the center of Plato’s arguments in all his artworks and presents a feeling of contentment for being of strong
Aristotle's thoughts on the concept of happiness are little more than a step-by-step process. One must first know the definition of the good life, and then go about fulfilling the purpose of a human in the specific methods he has prescribed. Aristotle's views have been studied for at least two thousand years, and they will continue to be considered as long as humans continue in the search for happiness.
Aristotle in a way creates a recipe for happiness because our tool is reasoning and the ingredients are virtues. Since he did not write down a cup of courage or a pinch of patience, humans need to find out themselves how much of the virtues to add. Once all of the virtues are added in correctly, then the individual will have a balanced character. In the end the goal of happiness can be reached by the individual who has a balanced character.
As the internet is becoming faster and faster, an operating system (OS) is needed to manage the data in computers. An Operating system can be considered to be a set of programed codes that are created to control hardware such as computers. In 1985 Windows was established as an operating system and a year earlier Mac OS was established, and they have dominated the market of the computer programs since that time. Although, many companies have provided other operating systems, most users still prefer Mac as the most secured system and windows as it provides more multiple functions. This essay will demonstrate the differences between windows
Microsoft was able in the OS segment to double their revenue per PC when Windows 3.x emerged which still needed MS-DOS to run. Most of the sales Microsoft made were to OEMs who would take the additional step of installing Windows on a computer’s hard drive. This strategy was effective in that the cost of production was relatively low, as an OEM may only need a single master copy to do the installation. The costs to Microsoft would largely be bore in R&D expense rather than production. As part of the Microsoft business model for this segment, Microsoft designed their OS to need periodic upgrades. The upgrades did come at a cost, and in essence, Microsoft was able to create an “annuity” stream for the Microsoft OS segment. In this segment, Microsoft had a monopolistic structure that allowed them to realize huge returns, especially during such a period of technological growth and rapid obsol...
The current ratio is a financial ratio that measures whether a firm has enough resources to pay its debts over the next 12 months. It compares a firm's current assets to its current liabilities. In other words, it shows how much that a company must pay it 1 rupee of liability.
Aristotle makes a conclusion that to be happy, one must have both complete virtue and a complete life (page 12). Pathways to happiness can only be a natural good. A natural good is the result of a human action in which the end result of that action is pursued in its own right (page 7). Happiness is the ultimate goal of human life and virtue is one of the highest achieved goods. To be happy, one must also have a complete life, meaning a life without misery. One can be virtuous and still be unhappy if their life is full of misfortune.
Furthermore, examining Aristotle’s understanding of happiness and virtue, along with the distinctions he makes between intellectual and moral virtues will provide insight into why individuals may act a certain way. Aristotle defines “happiness” as flourishing or living well as a good in itself. He believes that when an individual makes a decision, it is for
