Bravery is a behavior of courage or even a character who has the audacity to risk their own life. A great example would be the Disney movie Moana. Which is about a girl name Moana who leaves her homeland to sail across the ocean with Maui, a demigod, to bring the heart of Te Fiti back where it belongs. Moana is a perfect example of bravery because she risks her own life to sail through the massive ocean even if there are monsters just waiting to hurt her. While sailing, Moana goes through a dangerous journey and meets Kakamoras that attack her boat. Also, another way Moana shows heroism is when she enters Lalotai, the realm of monsters, so she can help Maui get his magical fish hook back. In fact, she even encounters Te Kā who is a fire demon
Mark Twain best described courage when he said that, “Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear - not absence of fear” (Twain). Both in The One Who Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey and Watership Down by Richard Adams, the authors deal with the topic of courage and each share a similar view on it as this quote. Indeed, both authors suggest that courage is not accumulated simply by acts of heroism, but rather by overcoming fears and speaking one’s mind as well. These books are very similar in the way that bravery is displayed through the characters in an uncommon way. Firstly, an example of bravery

“Courage - a perfect sensibility of the measure of danger, and a mental willingness to endure it.” Courageous people understand the danger that they face when they act how they do. That is what courage is all about. Many historical events occur due to people having the courage to do what they think is right, or because of those who use their courage to do what they want. Having the courage to stand alone in one’s beliefs may be one of the hardest thing a person can do.

The Hobbit, by J. R. R. Tolkien shows the world that bravery is not something that comes with birth and background. It is something inside us all, and we just need to reach down and get it. Tolkien dives into this concept through Middle Earth, his fantasy land of elves, dwarves, dragons, goblins, and hobbits. The Shire is the beautiful, grassy home of Bilbo Baggins, a perfectly respectable hobbit in all manners. He leads an ordinary life where anything out of the ordinary is considered absurd. But then, one deciding day, the seasoned wizard Gandalf pays our hobbit Bilbo a visit. He brings tidings of the need of his help to go on an adventure in the east. Bilbo flat out refuses, but Gandalf has a surprise in store for him. A troop of
Bravery is the quality of a person who displays courage and fearlessness in the face of danger. Such qualities show splendor and magnificence in a person. Fear and terror sometimes hinder the determination someone can show. Overcoming this fear is what portrays bravery. In Ernest Hemingway’s A Farewell to Arms, Frederick Henry shows bravery by freely joining the Italian army, risking his life for some ambulance drivers and swimming to freedom, being shot at the whole way.
Ambrose Bierce wrote short stories based on his personal experiences and observations during the American Civil War. Although it looks like Bierce’s stories are about bravery and nobility of war, in reality Bierce sends a message to his readers about the cruelty of war through different points. In each story, Bierce writes about bravery and nobility of his character but actually exposes his or her personality flaw by use of gallows humor. One of Bierce’s stories “Killed at Resaca” (Bierce 63-68) clearly shows the personality flaw, selfishness, of the main character Lieutenant Herman Brayle.
