True Freedom “Every American deserves to live in freedom, to have his or her privacy respected and a chance to go as far as their ability and effort will take them - regardless of race, gender, ethnicity or economic circumstances.” -Christopher Dodd. I believe that true freedom is being able to worship my own religion, marry who I choose, and speak freely without persecution. These are the things that mean true freedom to me and without them we would not be as progressed as we are now. Freedom of religion is perhaps one of the most valuable freedoms we as citizens of the USA have as it gives us the right to worship whatever god you may believe in. Although freedom of religion seems like a simple freedom we are very fortunate to have it because in some other countries people are not able to practice religion freely like us, without be being punished. We have freedoms that other places only dream of, choice of religion is one of these freedoms. Such an opportunity like this was longed for years and it’s really amazing that we are free to have our religious beliefs and openly worship them. The freedom to marry who you choose is a pretty new right that wasn’t available to long ago. This freedom is not something a lot of others have. In many places you are not allowed to openly express your love for someone, like we can. I feel that this is a part of true freedom because it lets you be able to express your love to whom you choose and that’s amazing. This right was just passed recently but means so much to so many
