Paper Bag Essay (Draft) A paper bag is something basic; it is fragile and a common item. However, it is what is inside the paper bag that truly makes it something unique. If compared with a human, a paper bag would have similar metaphoric properties. Humans, on the outside, seem similar to each other. Most humans have two arms, two legs, two eyes, and a mouth. My character has been influenced by many people; some who are still actively playing a role in my life, and some who still exist in this world but don’t visit anymore. The poem, “Masks,” written by Shel Silverstein, says that “...He kept it hid and so did she. They searched for blue their whole life through, They passed right by- and never knew.” This poem reminds me of all the people I have ever worked with, in all of the years I remember. The world would be an easier thing to interpret if everyone was open with each other. Overall, the items in my paper bag represent my character traits as a person, and I should continue demonstrating these traits in order to show others not to hide their personality. These objects will constantly remind me of who I am, remind me to be myself, and remind me to continue to be unique in the future. Even
