While taking the “Ambivalent Sexism quiz,” I found myself taken back at the blatant arrogance of these questions. I would not call myself a feminist, while I do have strong opinions about other issues, such as racial inequality and topics surrounding that. Despite my not placing myself into the feminism category, I, being a woman, was still offended by some of the questions being asked. Even though I knew that the purpose of this quiz was to point out the obscure beliefs that people may still hold in today's society, while reading statements such as “Women are too easily offended,” and “Women exaggerate problems they have at work,” I was outraged at the thought that people would agree with this. I would argue with any feminist who believes women should be superior to men, because I think equality is important. Equality is what minorities have been fighting for for centuries, and feminism should be in support of that. The thought of a woman agreeing with some of the quizzes belittling statements is beyond me. Women have begun to accept the roles that society has placed upon them. It is okay for a woman to dream of becoming a stay at home mom, who cleans the house and cooks the food, just as it is okay for a man to dream of this as well, but expecting a women to uphold the role of a housewife purley based off of her gender is wrong and is what feminist are fighting against. Women need to support each other and rise above this discrimination, despite the many people telling them that they cannot or that it is not their place. Women should not be making 85 cents to a man's dollar in 2018. Issues such as these need to be addressed in society and in politics. Women are beautiful and intelligent, just as beautiful and intelligent as men, and women and their bodies need to be embraced and
