World War II: What role did the allies play The allies to us and to the Jewish religion were instrumental and essential to the end of the reign of terror caused by Germany, or the Nazis. Without the help of the United States of America and our and the Jews’ allies, we may not be able to even fathom the present time of the world we live in today. Most people living in the time of World War II were not aware of the fact that millions of Jewish people were being murdered by the Nazis, which led into the discovery of concentration camps and the horrific emotion expressed by many people of that time. On July 24, 1944, the USSR army marched near Lublin, Poland (Liberation). Continuing westward, the army came across what could have only been death camp, Lublin-Majdanek, which had been abandoned, all that was left were the straggling Jewish prisoners which had not been killed by the S.S., or the Schutzstaffel (Chen). After the discovery of Majdanek, people all around the world believed and knew that there was more evil to the Nazis than previously imagined. Countries, in a way, searched and stumbled upon concentration and death camps located all throughout Europe. Whenever camps were discovered and liberated, almost every single camp was empty of any S.S. and Nazis because they knew that there was nothing that could be done to save the camp or themselves except to flee. The Nazis would kill everyone that they could, burn everything revealing and important, and leave the inmates to fend for themselves to to starve to death (Chen). The S.S. would also transfer the inmates from camp to camp without appropriate clothing and in cold or hot terrain, resulting in the death of even more Jewish people. On August 31, 1944, the S.S. began to evacuate the Natzweiler-Struthof camp to transfer them the the Dachau Complex, this death march ended with approximately two thousand
