Attaining national progress both economically and socially does not simply occur overnight. This initiative takes quite a number of hands (and feet) to steer the nation to a path of growth not only for the people of today but also for the children of tomorrow.
One may think that the person solely responsible for directing the reins of our nation towards its path rests on the shoulder of the President, but I have come to realize that nobody possesses that kind of power. Therefore, it is safe to conclude that every voice ringing out for the Philippines contributes in some way to the direction in which our country goes. Presidents are not the only ones responsible for all the success nor are they liable for all the failures our dear country faced since all of us share the burden of those actions. They are in that position in order to plan an action and lead us to a brighter future; consequently, it falls in our hands to contribute and follow as well. For it is important to remember that it takes a whole lot of Filipinos to raise a country such as the Philippines.
These thoughts were formed into my consciousness as I revisited the period when Ferdinand E. Marcos once lead the country and the time when Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III just became our leader; it is definitely odd that I felt a sense of apprehension seeping within my bones as a read, perhaps the reason for all my uneasiness is that seeing how time unfolded a series of events for the two of these great men, which eventually lead to this version of today. This made me realize that I have complete freedom to imagine instances different from our written history in order to create other versions of the present that could create insights for the future to come. Well, it is o...

In the end it is in his interest to complete the vision his parents had for the country and that he should transcend to us the light, which would guide all of us to the unknown future. More importantly, it is just a matter of time for us to see whether he can steer the nation away from all the hatred of the past towards a new beginning. The inspiration to move forward would be his driving force to inspire our fellow countrymen in turn so that as one we could weather any setbacks that might come to our country. Future is such a mystery but with the right actions today we can be assured that we can shoulder the responsibility for the next generation.
The first reason the United States should have annexed the Philippines is because it is our duty to as a country to spread the values of democracy overseas. For example, as stated here in Albert J. Beveridge’s campaign speech he says, “ Do we owe no duty to the world?… it is ours to save for liberty and civilization (Doc B).” He is saying that it is our duty as a sovereign nation to help an uncivilized nation modernize, industrialize, . another example, is from William Mcki...
... appointed him. He felt he deserve credit for helping to set this country on the right path towards freedom, prosperity, and loyalty to the country. Although they might not appreciate it now, his confident future generations will follow his lead to make this country the best it can be. For that generation he could offer this, once you set your goals, never give up. He had numerous jobs as minister and ambassadors to many different countries before he finally won the election to become the President. The path he traveled was not easy, but I think he believed his hard work paid off. I think if he still alive today he would probably take revenge on all those crooked politicians he had been hearing about who take bribes and shred confidential documents. They deteriorate the fabric this country was built on, and it will be a long time before it is fully repaired.
He called for restoration with action, and promised solutions to the economic crisis, unemployment, world policy. He however, does remind the people, “We do not distrust the future of essential democracy. The people of the United States have not failed.” He promises swift action to the problems the he and the nation face.
Giving them a functioning government, education system, military presence, the United States truly felt like they helped. However, the Filipinos felt dictated over and did not agree to the lifestyle that the Americans

The truth is I didn’t want the Philippines, and when they came to us, as a gift from the gods, I did not know what to do with them.… I sought counsel from all sides— Democrats as well as Republicans—but got little help. I thought first we would take only Manila; then Luzon; then other islands perhaps also. I walked the floor of the White House night after night until midnight; and I am not ashamed to tell you, gentlemen, that I went down on my knees and prayed Almighty God for light and guidance more than one night. And one night late it came to me this way… that we could not give them back to Spain… that we could not leave them to themselves— they were unfit for self-government… [and] that there was nothing left for us to do but to take them all, and to educate the Filipinos, and uplift and civilize and Christianize them, and by God’s grace do the very best we could by them.” (Thomas G. Preamble As we look back upon the 20th Century, we see the birth of American prominence. The century is marked by glorious American achievements ranging from the birth of the Space Age to the development of the Information Age. Now, as we venture through the new millennium, the potential for further American prosperity is enormous. At times this journey will be a perilous quest, but with valiant leadership this nation shall flourish.
Education has always been in existence in one form or another. As each child is born into this world regardless of who or where they are born, life lessons immediately begin. He/she will learn to crawl, walk, and talk by the example and encouragement of others. Although these lessons are basic in the beginning they evolve as the child grows. However, the core learning method of a child does not change. Learning from others, they will watch, listen, and then act for themselves. Thomas Jefferson believed that an education would lead men and women to the ability to be self-governed and become positive contributors to society (Mondale & Patton, 2001). Today, we can see how true this is by the examples of others. Those that are given the opportunity for education are more likely to find jobs and develop skills that not only improve a community, but influence the economic growth of their nation (Ravitch, Cortese, West, Carmichael, Andere, & Munson, 2009, p. 13). On the other hand, if an education is not provided to individuals, they can become a hindrance to that nation’s growth.

The future leaders of this country are the children of today. The families of today, regardless of family structure, must be strengthened and supported by society and the government in the family’s efforts to ensure their children is prepared for the future. Each state in the union has various means by which to educate the country’s children, public, private and home. Although federal and state taxes assist funding the public school systems, many teachers still lack adequate supplies to provide opportunities for the children to reach their potential. The ‘no child will be left behind’ program from years ago still gua...
