“It’s not whether you win or lose, it’s how you play the game” is a quote by Grantland Rice which suggests that winning is not important as long as one tries their best. In the movies “Chariots of Fire” and “Next Goal Wins”, the notion and meaning of sport is explored in both similar and dissimilar ways. Athletes in times of difficulty can be important role models.” This shows that sports are in fact helpful because they can grow children into being important role models for the rest of society. Studies have shown time and time again that playing sports can be beneficial to children and we also believe this to be true. Many people still think that sports cause “too many injuries”, or coaches “are not fair enough”, but adolescents will experience these things all throughout their lives because injury can happen anywhere and they will not always be the best at what they are doing. Sports are beneficial to the youth because they can teach children and teens important life skills, help them maintain a fit and healthy lifestyle, all while improving their mental health.
Diana is an excellent illustration of the many struggles of women to find a place for themselves in sports. On an individual level, defying societal stereotypes is extremely difficult. The buriers that the first person must overcome are often extreme. However once the first person breaks down those buriers, it becomes increasingly easier for others to follow in their footsteps. Diana's struggle demonstrates both how far women have come and how far women still have to go.

Andre grew up with a father that was so obsessed with making his son into a tennis pro, that he had forgotten Andre was also human. At the age of 13, Andre had enough. He started to rebel against his father. On the court, he wore denim shorts and boasted cou...
My struggles with soccer began early in my life. I was an average player, who had a drive to succeed and go far. Early in my soccer career I began to have difficulty breathing, and was struggling to run normally. I was then diagnosed with asthma. I was frustrated with the way I was playing, but decided I was not going to let the asthma control my life, or my dreams. In George’s case, I think he struggled at home because he never had a male figure in his life. His parents divorced early in his life. When his mom remarried, it didn’t last long.
