Imagine being a part of one of the major issues in society today, having the choice to oppose it, yet you end up joining it. Or imagine going home one night to a family member that isn't acting themselves, is throwing up, and looks horrible; then it becomes a regular thing. Every night, the same routine over and over. Then one night they don't come home; you get a call the next morning "Hello?" "sir/ma'am, This is the deputy, I'm sorry to inform you that your loved one has been in a terrible accident due to the influence of alcohol and has unfortunately been pronounced brain dead." Abusing alcohol is not something to take lightly. Alcohol can affect the abusers, their peers, and the society in a number of ways. The number of abusers will just increase if people are not informed on it earlier. Many people see alcohol as a good way to "celebrate, play games, relax, …show more content…
Heart effects: Cardiomyopathy-stretching of heart muscle and Strings, Arrhythmias, irregular heartbeat, stroke, and high blood pressure, Liver effects: Steatosis(Fatty liver), Alcoholic hepatitis, fibrosis, cirrhosis. The people around you can affect you just as much as you can affect them. "The abuser is harmful to their peers as their peers are harmful to them." -Joseph E. Peers are what generally turn the abusers to alcohol. They pressure the person to keep on drinking as if it's okay to do so. Liver disease resulting from alcohol affects more than two million Americans and is one of the primary causes of illness and death. The liver frees the body of harmful substances, such as alcohol. While the liver breaks down alcohol, it produces toxins that can be even more dangerous than the alcohol consumed (“Beyond Hangovers: Understanding Alcohol's Impact on Your Health” 13). “These by-products damage liver cells, promote inflammation, and weaken the body’s natural defenses. Eventually, these problems can disrupt the body’s metabolism and impair the function of other organs” (“Beyond Hangovers: Understanding Alcohol’s Impact on Your Health” 13).
Increased abuse of alcohol leads to physical damage to the body. Alcohol is absorbed directly into the brain, dulling one’s senses and weakling one's will power. According to the article from the Mayo Clinic Health Information, “Excessive use of alcohol can produce several harmful effects on your brain and nervous system. It also can severely damage your liver, pancreas and cardiovascular system. Alcohol use in pregnant women can damage the fetus” (Mayo 1). Continued ingestion of alcohol affects every organ in the body. Every organ in the body is affected. The liver has serious effects that may lead to cirrhosis and death.. At first the liver adapts and tolerates alcohol. It works harder and finally damages itself in time. Alcohol leads the liver to the inability to metabolize facts. Furthermore, it leads to increase in cholesterol and triglycerides leading to clogged arteries. Red blood cells are also affected leading the individual to become anemic.
Many people that are alcoholics generally encounter heart attacks and liver disease. When you start to encounter a heart attack you will suddenly start to feel agony in your heart. Heart attacks can be threatening because it will cause you to suffer so much pain and the pain doesn’t go away even when you are resting and taking medicine. Heart attacks occurs when the coronary artery obtains a blood clots that clogs up the blood flow to the heart which cause the muscles in the heart to weaken and eventually causes the heart fail. Now when you encounter liver disease you are rolling toward a world of trouble you will start to lose weight, lose energy, and ect but it can get worst. Some alcoholics get the liver disease after many years of heavily consuming alcohol. Alcoholics can also encounter cancer in mouth & throat but not many alcoholics develop cancer from heavy drinking, it develop most when you smoke acreage of tobacco. Cancer in the throat is basically when the cells in your throat develops a genetic mutation. Cancer in the mouth is when the cells in your lips have a genetic

Alcohol has been produced and consumed by humans throughout history. Alcohol has been a socially accepted factor throughout many years. It may be legal, but it is still a drug. Consuming alcohol can be a savor experience, but consuming too much can cause long term problems to the body and the developing brain. Drinking alcohol is like hiking a mountain, the higher you go up the harder it gets.

Alcoholics will live day by day struggling with compulsive drinking disease. Everyone thinks it’s all fun and games drinking and partying with their friends when they are younger, but they do not realize the effects of what alcoholism does to your body until it is unfortunately too late. In my opinion, alcohol abuse is the deadliest disease out there, before you know it alcohol takes over your body and your life. Everything around you will eventually revolve around alcohol, you will start to distance yourself from your loved ones which can result in a separation, you can lose your job, and the worst part about it is that you are destroying your body. After years of constant alcohol use you will start to have liver failure.
Alcohol abuse is when you use alcohol too much or too often. You may use alcohol to make yourself feel happier or to reduce stress.

This is how alcohol poisoning effects the body it slows brain function, starting with balance and coordination, but eventually affecting other body systems, irritating the stomach and causing vomiting. It stops gas reflects as muscle lose sensitivity and coordination, which can leave the individual to choke on their own vomit, affecting the nerves that control heartbeat and breathing, which can cause these functions to slow down, become irregular, or stop all together.
