The two different acts of aviation I will be discussing are The Airmail Act of 1925 (Kelly Act) and The Air Commerce Act of 1926. The Air Mail Act of 1925 (Kelly Act) was the first major piece of legislation created by the congress back in 1925. The main issue that led to the creation of The Kelly Act was the encouragement from the government to promote commercial aviation as well as allowing private carriers to bid for government mail contracts. The purpose of The Air Commerce Act is to establish rules, laws, and regulations regarding the field of aviation in order to ensure a safe environment for flying. Some examples are the creation of the regulations that guide aircraft separation in altitude, and developing navigational aids etc. The importance of Air Commerce Act in 1926 is clearly seen as it laid out a solid fundamental concept of flight regulations in order to guarantee safety. The navigational aids created under this act significantly assisted pilots in the air in knowing their location. The aviation regulations and navigational aids nowadays are all improved from the basics in 1926 under this act, without the original concept back then, we will never enjoy the safe air travel now.
