The Age of Exploration was a time period of great expeditions to seek advancements. Juan Ponce de Leon was one of these explorers. Juan Ponce de Leon was a Spanish explorer in search of gold on the land which is known today as Florida which he is credited with naming whom governed Puerto Rico until his death. As a conquistador, Juan Ponce de Leon set out on his first expedition to obtain gold. It is said the de Leon never found gold but did find new lands.
