The Solar Tent uses both passive energy and active energy. It’s passive energy because of its tent design that regulates a perfect environment for living, and active energy because it uses the solar hot water systems. The main purpose of the product is to provide temporary shelter in case natural and man-made calamities (i.e. earthquakes, landslides, floods ...); it is also use for family outings and other camping activities. It’s also beneficial for mountain climbing enthusiast to have a momentary place to stay in to the cold night. This solar powered tent was thought up because of traveling different places on going out of town and the fact that the campers always need to keep in touch with mates while they're camping and roaming around the camp site. Aside from the fact that it contributes to the conservation of energy sources, solar powered tent has features that are efficient enough to provide comfort and security for the consumers. It has a mosquito proof mechanism. This tent is made out of pure aluminum hydrochloride bicarbonate; a special organic compound found in mosquito repellents to drive away insects that can harm the consumers. This tent has 10 electric outlets. Not only can the tent absorb solar energy but that it can be used as a source of electrical energy to power up gadgets and electrical appliances with its 10 electrical outlets. It is family oriented. Solar tent is a user-friendly solar powered tent which is perfect for family gatherings and special occasions. This tent can equip with 6 portable beds. It …show more content…
This solar tent is harm-free and eco-friendly which is not hazardous to the environment. It provides protection and safeness from the material used in its fabrication and installation. It can be used also to provide temporary shelter to the people affecting with man-made and natural disasters.
People can roam around to different places and have an adequate
In article “Camping for their lives,” author Scott Bransford gives commendable information about the tent cities and causes of them. He gave a good start to article by mentioning experience of Marie and Francisco Caro. The article starts with Marie and Francisco Caro building their tent alongside the Union Pacific Railroad tracks in downtown Fresno (p. 1). He also mentioned that how harsh the conditions were when they started building their tent by mentioning that even a strong person could wither in a place like that. As the choice of name of the topic is sensible and evocative, it helps him to get more attention towards the article. He uses expert opinions describing about the tent cities and causes. As mentioned in the text, Rahul Mehrotra
Solar energy and climate were major contributing factors in the building plans of Anasazi architecture. The climate can be harsh in the Four Corners region of the country, with extremely hot days and very cool nights, unbearably hot summers, and frigid winters. In order to protect the inhabitants from their environment, the Anasazi architects incorporated their knowledge of the effect of solar energy on building materials, as well as location of the sun in determining how the structures may most efficiently either absorb or reflect heat. “A southern exposure would have taken advantage of the low, southern winter sun angle, helping keep rooms wa...
... the sun isn’t as high up in the sky. Large open spaces and a covered loft promote stack ventilation which also further increase the comfort zone. A mud room/hallway doubles as an airlock during extreme temperature months. The addition of active systems suffices for the rest of the heating load. On the roof positioned is a solar hot water panel which has access to solar gain. A small tankless electric water heater boosts stored hot water temperatures when needed. The ultimate goal is to simply reduce energy use by half of what the average household uses. The equipment chosen is an Eemax Electric Tankless Hot Water Heater. A solar hot water panel mounted on the dormer heats water through glycol exchange. A tankless electric hot water heater 1) boosts the solarheated stored water if it is below desired temps and 2) provides back up water heating during cloudy periods.
Solar energy is energy taken from the light that reaches earth's surface from the sun. There are four different kinds of solar energy, which are active solar systems, passive solar systems, photovoltaic cells and concentrating power systems. An active solar systems is a system that captures solar energy by mechanical means. Common active solar systems are often in buildings or homes. Some examples are roof collectors and water heating. Low Intensity and high variability have limited the use of active solar energy in Canada. A pass...
middle of paper ... ... Solar Storm is a story where two cultures are drawn into conflict over environmental recourses in order to persevere in their way of life. Two views tend to clash, one a view of Eco criticism while the other is in denial. In order to secure their survival, they will stop at nothing.
No electricity, water, sewer, permanent address and certainty. These are what the people in tent cities live through every day. In the article “Camping for Their Lives”, author Scott Bransford chronicled the stories of people who reside in tent cities, a makeshift housing for informal settlers. He also documented their struggles, the different circumstances of the informal settlers and the origins of tent cities. The author was effective in raising awareness on the issues surrounding tent cities were growth rate seems to be proportionate on the amount of indigent residents. He was able to communicate the story without prejudice by citing stories of residents from Taco Flat, and adding excerpts from interviews with experts on the matter.
Preview: Today I will discuss the potential that solar power has to become this country’s main supply of energy and the latest research that can make solar power more efficient and cost effective. I will also present the environmental benefits that come with using solar power over other and more harmful forms of energy.
...reat way to us this un usable space. Putting the solar panels on roof also gives it the best angle where the sun will hit to get the most sun light. Unlike any other piece of equipment that produces energy Solar panels are silent. They convert sun light into electricity without making a sound (“What Is Solar Energy”).
The sun has been a major aspect of life since the beginning of time. People used many other forms of energy before electricity was discovered. There has been a debate over energy resources for years. Many people are worried about what current energy resources may be doing to the environment. Oil spills and nuclear power plant mishaps have only been a few accidents that have had a big impact on the environment and the people who inhabit it. There are plenty of energy sources that do not harm the environment and are still able to get the job done. Solar energy is one energy alternative that will insure the betterment of the country and, at the same time, protect the natural environment.

... and monthly water filling. Solar energy is the cleanest and purest form of energy, allowing for cleaner air overall in our environment. There is great hope for a lot more solar panels to be installed worldwide. Solar is a viable alternative energy with solar panels becoming more affordable and more efficiently designed.
Solar energy is clean energy that does not affect our environment. Solar power utilizes the sun’s energy to produce electricity, unlike other sources of energy, which rely on continual mining for raw materials. Consequently, producing solar energy from the heat from the sun does not result into the annihilation of the ecosystem, compared to the extraction of fossil fuels (Bode, 2005). Therefore, with the use of solar energy, it will help keep the environment clean, thus help to combat the issue of global warming, which is a threat to the world’s ecosystem worldwide. The use of solar energy will help save the worlds vegetation, and help prev...
The Earth captures around 342 W/m2 of energy from the sun. This energy is in the form of solar radiation, which the atmosphere reflects about 77 W/m2 and will absorb around 68 W/m2 of solar radiation annually. Therefore, the Earth’s surface is receiving, on average, about 197 W/m2 of solar radiation annually. This amount of energy received is roughly more than 10,000 times the amount of all energy humans consume per year. This energy can be used to produce electricity or heat. This energy source is not being used to it’s potential considering how much effort would come into effect to store and transport this energy.
First of all, solar energy is the energy produced when the sun heats the solar panel. Thus, when the sun heats the panels, it produces electricity. Solar power produces energy during the day and can store energy for the night. Solar power does not pollute the environment. However, it has high maintenance cost, and it takes a lot of land space.
