There are mainly two kinds of zakat which are Zakat ul-Fitr and Zakat al-mal. We should pay zakat because Allah (SWT) commands in Al-Quran, “Take alms out of their property, you would cleanse them and purify them thereby pray for them and surely your prayer is a relief to them and Allah is hearing and knowing.” [Al-Quran 9:103] Besides that, Allah will destroy Riba (usury) and will give increase for Sadaqat (deeds of charity, alms) Allah also likes not the disbelievers, sinners and whatever you give for interest to increase within the wealth of people will not increase with Allah. But what you give in Zakat, desiring the countenance of Allah - those are the multipliers.” [AlQuran 30:39]
Zakat ul-Fitr is often referred to as Sadaqah- ul-Fitr

It means blessing, purification, increase and goodness. It is so called as it blesses the wealth from which it is taken and protects it from misfortunes. Ibn Taimiah said that the soul of one who gives zakat is blessed and so is his wealth. The obligation of zakat is mandatory on every Muslim who possessed the minimum of Nisaad, fully owned by them in excess of items of personal use such as clothing, food, shelter, furniture, utensils and car. Allah stated that “Of their goods take alms so that thou mightiest purify and sanctify them” (Surah 9 : Verse 103). Imam Ibn Hazim also said that every young or old Muslim needs to cleanse his or her wealth with zakat because of the generality of the …show more content…
Nisaab is calculated by adding up the cash value of all the assets such as gold, silver and currency. If it is equal to or in excess of the minimum nisaab as specified in the above table, the zakat is due at the rate of 2.5%. The payment of zakat is compulsory on the excess wealth which is equal to or exceeds the value nisaab which is possessed for a full Islamic year. If such wealth decreases during the course of the year and increases again to the value of nisaab before the end of the year, the zakat then must be calculated on the full amount that is possessed at the end of the
A decent number of people find it easy to consider poverty as ‘will of God, ' therefore, absolving themselves of any blame for the miseries created by the poor conditions in the society. In regard, they also draw one’s attention to several references in the Holy Bible to make their point. Likewise, there are some people, who highlight the importance of charity and spending on the poor people to alleviate poverty. Nearly all the Muslim societies have many believers affirm that poverty cannot prevail if all wealthy Muslims just paid their Zakat regularly. Some people even believes in going to the extent of claiming that the implementation of the Islamic system of Zakat would bring so many resources that the nation would not need to apply any other tax to manage its affairs. However, such claims cannot be supported by some research or reliable data. Away from the will of God scenario, corruption is one of the leading causes of poverty. Even more, all countries have corruption, even affluent governments. Corruption does not negate all that is right or explain all that is bad. There are some nations have corruption extensive, painful as it is, according to “Corruption Is Just a Symptom.” in Wall Street
...r something that has its source from Islam in their government. It can be seen from recent mosque protests that, even a place of worship comes to instill the fear of the sharia in people’s minds. Whereas sharia is something very complex and not a monolithic canon of law (it’s very flexible)—and most countries that say they practice it really don’t plus forget everyone else most Muslims don’t want a sharia themselves. Islam being such a controversial issue, it might not be possible to use zakat. However, the general idea was that society and individuals themselves are responsible for many aspects of poverty and it is their responsibility and duty to fix in the end for their own benefit.
Helping the poor is a requirement for salvation in Christian and strongly emphasized in Judaism (Singer, 19-21). “Every year, Muslims above a minimum level of wealth must give zakat in proportion to their assets (not income),” (Singer,21). Zakat is a type of charity in Islam. There are two types of charity in Islam which is compulsory and optional. Zakat is a compulsory type of charity that every Muslims must give every year. There is a specific amount of money that each person must give for zakat for instance $15 per family member. Zakat al-fitr is given at the end of Ramadhan to help the poor and needy to celebrate Eid (a festival that Muslims around the world celebrate after Ramadhan) the same way like others. By receiving the money from zakat given by others, poor people can buy new clothes to celebrate eid and can buy some food to eat after a month of fasting. The optional type of charity is sadaqa. There is no specific amount of money for sadaqa. People can donate how much they want to donate. Sadaqa is not only in term of money. It can be other things such as donating clothes or toys to people who can’t afford it. The purpose of charity is Islam is not only to help the poor. It is also to help people to eliminate selfishness in in their personality. This is because, by giving to the poor, it shows that we care about people who are less fortunate than us and shows that we are willing to share a
Islamic finance is a financial system that operates according to Islamic law (which is called sharia) and is, therefore, sharia-compliant. Just like conventional financial systems, Islamic finance features banks, capital markets, fund managers, investment firms, and insurance companies. However, these entities are governed both by Islamic law and the finance industry rules and regulations that apply to their conventional counterparts. Therefore, islamic finance is to be assets based as oppose to the currency based whereby investment structured on exchange or ownership of assets, and money is simply mechanism for transaction process. It would based on two sources which are Al-Quran and As-Sunnah.
A market economy is a society that is industrialized. For example, there are factories and workers that make goods. But a society does not need capitalism to be industrialized. A market economy is where there are people who compete. They try to get money by themselves and only for them. They are money greedy and the want it all. This is a goal and this is what a market economy focuses on. But even though society is industrialized, they have limits. They are controlled by the government. For example, Social Security is controlled by the government. When the government controls, institutions do not have many rights. For social security, there are qualifications and these qualifications are made by the government. But the poor face more problems than the rich. For example, the rich have more power and control the ways there
Surveys are an effective and popular method for research because of the efficiency, versatility and generalizability. Generalizability is the ability to sample and draw research conclusions for large populations (Bachman & Schutt, 2012). In order to effectively maximize outcomes in survey research, surveys must be structured to avoid unclear or confusing questions. Demographic related questions should be avoided if not pertinent to the research study (Bachman & Schutt, 2012). Generally, the motivation of the researcher is clearly identified in a survey, and the respondent has the option of declining involvement in the survey. There are fewer ethical dilemmas with survey research than other types of research methods.

Tax burden is a cost and burden which could possibly be transferred to consumers through market mechanism (depending on elasticity of demand and supply). To a Muslim, Zakat is a religious duty and never a burden and therefore should not be transferred on other people.
First of all, let us outline how Islamic banks actually work and what their main differences are in comparison with conventional banks. In this banking system, banks are operated by Islamic laws (known as Sharia), so Islamic economic principles are considered as primary guidance. Two basic doctrines behind Islamic banking are the sharing of profit and loss and, significantly, the prohibition of the collection and payment of interest . Hence unlike conventional commercial banks, Islamic banks do not pay or charge interest on lending or borrowing of money. This is because the Sharia’s strictly prohibits, among other things, the receipt and payment of riba (interest) /. The interpretations to clarify the meaning behind this restriction suggests that earning or charging extra amount of money from debtor has to be seen something as immoral behavior, because making pressure on your borrower is actually unfair from the view point of Islam. To make it clear, the religion of Islam basically promote the principle of justic...
Zakat is the third pillar of Islam. It is an Arabic word, and translates as purification or growth. It is generally thought of as a tax, as the contributor should pay 2.5% of their wealth to charity. However, Zakat is valued not because of the money given, but the motive behind it. The intentions for giving Zakat should be pure, and simply about pleasing Allah, and earning good deeds.
According to Shari’ah, which is the guidelines underlined by Islam, there is several principles of Islamic Banking that are in accordance to its practices. They are :-

In society today, there are many children and parents who face the diagnosis of having a developmental disability that would qualify them for special education and needs. This time can come with many questions for the parents when they realize the specialized care and education their child will need. Most often, questions arise about their schooling and how they will be included with other children, as well as what services are available to their child. How their disability impacts their life is a very valid concern because their education will be impacted. When a disability is discovered, it effects trickle down from the child to the parents, to the teachers and finally the medical and educational specialists.
In Islam, the purpose of life is to worship God. Life is only a test or trial for the individual to show his true nature. Muslims believe that they were created by God, will only spend a period of time in this world, and that they will be judged fairly by Allah for all their deeds. The purpose of this life is to determine the outcome and permanent position of an individual in the next life. If the purpose of life was to accumulate wealth or some other material possession, there would be no purpose after becoming wealthy or acquiring this possession. Therefore, the purpose of life must be to worship God as any purpose of life that revolves around material acquisition would be purposeless after acquiring that material. Worship is also a broad term in this context; worship can be seen as doing the obvious acts of worship, as well as; helping others around you, studying and making contributions to the advancements in the world. This is clearly conveyed in the following Hadith of the Prophet (P.B.U.H),
Human rights are rights that are believed to belong to every person whether or not they have a psychological or physical condition. These rights ensure that these people are treated as someone without a psychological or physical condition. A Bill of Rights is a declaration of individual rights and freedoms, usually issued by a national government. There are two types of Bill of Rights. A constitutional Bill of Rights is a set of rights that is incorporated into a constitution. A statutory Bill of Rights is based on the government passing legislation containing the rights, and can be amended or repealed simply by passing a new law. Unlike most similar liberal democracies, Australia does not have a Bill of Rights to protect human rights, however
