Elderly people require assistance with their physical and social needs. Adult Day Care Centers were designed to address elderly needs. Adult Day Care Centers are beneficial for loved one’s physical and social needs. In most cases Adult Day Care centers are beneficial for the elderly people. The centers intend to improve the quality of life for the older adults and also assist caregivers and family members with the proper care needed. There are several community based long term care services available for frail older adults. The centers are aim is to preserve and sustain quality of life for the elderly. The studies compare community –based day care to nursing home day care. Methods of the study consisted of, mood and behavior problems also the quality of life for individuals participating. After six months the results concluded that community based meeting centers were beneficial to the participants more so than the nursing home day care (Van, Meiland 2016). There were several studies done on benefits of day cares centers for elderly people with dementia. These studies were done because of the difficulty to draw conclusions about beneficial effects of “day care” in general. The point is to support families with careers and their loved ones with dementia. Improvement in confidence, managing behaviors, and depression resulted from some of the studies. The participants were able to adapt with the disability, maintain an emotional balance and have an adequate relationship with their caregivers. Day cares started immediately with the support for people with dementia and there is no extra charge for the service (Van, Meiland 2016).
