Are you familiar with the name Adolf Hitler? If you recognize this name then you have probably learned about him and heard of him harming many people. Hitler's rule in Germany seemed to be the most devastating in history, but there is much more to him than that.

Throughout his childhood, Adolf Hitler was always in the spotlight. For example, his mother, Klara, had children before him but they died of disease, “When Klara gave birth to her fourth child, Adolf, […] she feared he would also die […] Klara spoiled Adolf, for he was clearly her favorite” (Haugen 18). It seems as though, she did not pamper or gift her other children as much because of her love for Adolf. Another reason for this could be that maybe Klara was so focused on not losing another child that she did not have time to worry about anything else. In addition, his father, Alois, was stricter and more demanding of him and “wanted Adolf to follow in his footsteps and work for the Austrian government. […] Adolf knew he didn't want to be an office worker like his father” (Haugen 18-19). His father's urging could have been caused by the failure of his recent children and wanted Adolf to be successful in life and work. But Alois's demands could have been too high for Adolf to meet. Adolf wanted to become an artist, which made his father angry, and since his father kept urging for him to become a politician, in order to get his way, Adolf “at the age of 12, he started failing his classes […] at the age of 16, Adolf convinced his mother to let him drop out of high school” (Haugen 20-21). With this it seemed unlikely that Adolf would have any part in the government. This also shows that Adolf was so desperate to get his way that he was willing to do anything. Adolf Hitler...
