I like the word “choose.” Each day, we all wake up and will have hundreds of choices to make. For example, you can be driving and, someone cuts you off. You have a choice of how you can respond to that. You can yell at them or you can ignore them and take a deep breath. With addiction, you will have many choices. Will you choose to avoid people, places and, things that are risky for you. Addiction Recovery Choice helps drug addicts and alcoholics people in how far they want to go with their recovery. Also you can volunteer and get informed. “Drug addiction is not a hallmark of moral failure or lack of willpower it's a complex disease that deserves long term, extension treatment, just like any other chronic condition”. “Abuse of and addiction …show more content…

Also, helps people find programs or therapy that meets to people specific need by levels of care, issues people are struggling with fiancees and types of setting they want to get help.” By volunteering you are learning how people are getting help and, how to help people. For example, learning how they got into drug addiction and, what's their story behind it. By doing so you can learn on how not to fall into drug addiction . For example if you are noticing problems in friend or family member’s work, health, family, finances, relationships,, or self-respect, something might be wrong with them. Checking the person’s behavior closely for over a period of days or weeks to understand what leads you to think there is a problem. Talking about what you saw with family members or, friends helps determine how to figure out the problem. If they agree there is a problem, figure out who will talk to the person about getting help with their drug problem . Some people find when they seek help for themselves that the person with the drugs use problem gets angry, perhaps because it represent a loss of control. Also, getting help means that you want to help the person with there problem . It’s never too soon for you voluter

Some people will think some of the important benefits of using drugs in pursuit of mental evolution and advancing oneself toward a life filled with gratitude and happiness. This is intended for all the sober folks who are missing out. And yet not everyone who smokes marijuana is a burn-out. “Many a pot smoker has observed that marijuana is a social lubricant too but it happily lacks the downslide into barbarism that sometimes accompanies alcohol use. Shrooms are also excellent for socializing, provided that you stay in positive surroundings.” Also there’s no painful hangover after your night of fun. Some people become addicted, though general social, biological, and environmental factors that can increase the risk. Therefore, when I work with substance abusers I will show empathy, encourage and validate their successes and their feelings about any failures. In addiction, I will help the person learn from their failures and normalize the situation. Furthermore, I would attempt to ensure that the person had several coping strategies in place, to help when he or she finds themselves in a difficult situation. Moreover, I intend to ensure the client has all the tools he or she needs to succeed while getting to the root of their problem through counseling.
An addiction counselor is a support system for someone that is having problems with drug and alcohol problems, eating disorders and other addictive problems they are having. They teach people how to modify their behaviors with the intention of a full recovery. One step at a time. One hour at a time. One day at a time. This talks about how the counselors are helping one step at a time, they are doing it one hour at a time, and they are doing it one day at a time, this is all helping the addicted person through it all. It is critical to have someone there for them at all times and addiction counselors provide this support that they need. After receiving the training one is able to enjoy this career with the great reward of helping others.
Coming up to a jump about to go airborne but then smash! He crashes into the dirt breaking his leg and part of his knee, but he has no support. This is where you would go to Road 2 Recovery(R2R) for help. There are many foundations out there to help people with sport problems, but there are only a few to help with dirt biking. This is why The Road 2 Recovery foundation is a dedicated program to help AMA professional motocross and supercross members with financial and emotional assistance if they have a career ending or very critical injury (“Welcome to the Road 2 Recovery foundation” 1).
First, the individual who is the addict must admit that there is a problem in order to begin the recovery process and weaken the hold of drug addiction.
Dowden et al., (2013) stated that relapse prevention should be applied no only with drug users, but relapse prevention should also be applied within the treatment of the general offender populations whenever possible. Historically, relapse prevention has been used with substance abusers, sexual offenders, and bi-polar individuals. Thus, Dowden et al., (2013) is stating that relapse prevention when applied to the treatment of drug dealers could be effective in reducing recidivism. Relapse prevention may possibly be able to alter the drug dealers perceptions of their reward system, allow drug dealers to learn skills that will allow them to recognize high-risk situations, solve problems and learn skills to cope with monetary issues rather than

Addiction is normally thought of as drug abuse and alcoholism but people can also be addicted to things such as gambling and sex as well. The controversy on if addiction is a disease or a choice is a continuous debate. Everyone has an opinion on this topic, one side believes it’s a disease, while the other believes it is a choice. Addiction is a brain disease expressed in the form of compulsive behavior (Leshner.) Both devolping
Volunteering enables an individual to make a positive impact on his or her community, while empowering the individual to better his or her life. This summer, I had the opportunity to volunteer at many diverse locations. From the hospital to the local library, I truly value my experience and treasure everything it has thought me. Volunteering lets us experience and learn things that we otherwise would not have learned; volunteering opens doors for us that we may not have been able to open before. Volunteering provides us with guidance and tolerance which we may use in the future to aid us in our decisions. At first glance, volunteering may seem to only benefit those who are helped, but on a deeper level, one can realize that volunteering benefits the volunteer as much as, if not more than, those who are helped. Not only does volunteering make a difference in one’s community, but it also helps the volunteer become a smarter, happier, friendlier and more caring individual.
Second, it is also clear how the community of those who live the life of the drug dealer/ user, became heavily influence by the actions and deeds of those who surround them. When you have a population of people who wake up, and do not see hope beyond their current conditions, they easily fall victim to the activities that surround them. Why should an 11 year old boy go to school, if one, the teachers do not hold him to any accountability or interest in why he should stay in school, two, and his father is in prison and the mother is sprung out on drugs? This 11 year old boy become influence by the drug dealer who appear to have all that he needs. His heroes and role models are those who are the drug dealers, and gang members. On his own he learned
