Adam walsh:
Adam John Walsh was born on November 14, 1974, he was 6 years old when he was kidnapped and killed. Adam was abducted from a Sears parking lot on July 27, 1981 in Hollywood, Florida. His severed head was found in a drainage canal off of the Florida turnpike two weeks later by 2 fishermen. Adam Walsh’s story was turned into a t.v. show called Adam. 38 million people have watched Adam since it first aired in 1983. Adam’s father, John Walsh, became an advocate for victims of violent crimes and is the host of the television show, America’s Most Wanted. Convicted serial killer, Ottis Toole, confessed to Adam’s murder, but was never convicted.

video games in the toy department, not less than ten minutes later, Reve returned to retrieve young Adam, and he was not there. Investigators learned that a teenage security guard had thold the other boys to leave because they were causing trouble. Adam, failed to tell the security guard that his mother was in another store and he went with the boys. He was abducted outside of the store shortly thereafter. His parents launched a massive search for Adam. Two weeks later, Adam’s head was found in a drainage canal by two fishermen in Vero Beach, Florida, though his body was never found. Ottis Toole abducted Adam near the front exterior of the Sears that afternoon, after being instructed to leave by a security guard. He lured Adam into his white 1971 Cadillac with promises of toys and candy, then proceeded to drive north on Interstate 95 toward his home in Jacksonville. Adam, at first docile and compliant, began to panic as they drove on. Toole punched him in the face, but as this just made the situation worse, he then “walloped him unconscious”. While Adam was knocked out, Toole drove north on the Florida Turnpike to a deserted service road just north of the Radebaugh Road overpass in northwest St. Lucia County and raped him for 2 hours. When Toole realized Adam was still breathing, he strangled him with a seat belt, dragged him out of the car, and decapitated him with a machete. Toole later claimed to have disposed of Adam’s body by incinerating it in an old refrigerator when he returned to Jacksonville. He drove around with Adam’s severed head in his car for a few days until remembering it was in there, and then threw it into a canal, just north of where he said he killed Adam. He claimed that he wanted to make Adam his adopted son, but given the close relationship he had with his parents, this was not very feasible. The police ultimately lost the blood stained carpet from Toole’s cadillac, the machete used to decapitate Adam, and eventually, the car itself. DNA testing was in a rudimentary state in the early 1980s and it was not possible then to determine the source of the blood found in the cadillac. Toole, a confidant of convicted serial killer, Henry Lee Lucas, repeatedly confessed and then retracted accounts of his involvement. Toole was never charged in the Walsh case, although he provided seemingly accurate descriptions as to how he committed the crime. Several witnesses also placed him in the Hollywood area in the days leading up to Adam’s disappearance. In September 1996, he died in prison at age 49, of cirrhosis while serving a life sentence for other crimes. Afterwards, his niece told John that her uncle made a deathbed confession to the murder of Adam. His confession was viewed as reliable since he and Lucas confessed to or implicated themselves in more than 200 different homicides. However, it was later revealed that most of Lucas’s confessions were false, having been coerced by the Texas Rangers. In 1997, Hollywood Police Chief Rick Stone conducted an exhaustive review of the Walsh case after the release of John Walsh’s book. At the same time, Stone was a 22 year old veteran of the Dallas, Texas, and Wichita, Kansas, police departments and had been appointed Hollywood’s chief of police in the previous year. Although the crime was 16 years old at the time of Chief Stone’s review, he provided an analysis of the evidence, including reviewing taped interrogations of Toole by Hollywood Police Detective Mark Smith. Stone says his review found evidence to prove “beyond a reasonable doubt” that Toole murdered Adam. Both Toole and his close friend, convicted serial killer Henry Lee Lucas, were notorious, Stone noted, for confessing to crimes they committed and recanting. In 2007, allegations earned widespread publicity that Jeffrey Dahmer, arrested in Wisconsin in 1991 after killing more than a dozen men and boys, was also named as a suspect in Adam’s murder.
He was living in Miami Beach at the time Adam was murdered, and two eyewitnesses placed him at the shopping mall on the day Adam was abducted. One of the witnesses claimed to have seen a strange man walking into the toy department where Adam was abducted. The other said that he saw a young, blond man with a protruding chin throw a struggling child into a blue van and sped off. Both witnesses recognized the man they had seen as Dahmer when pictures of him were released in the newspapers after his arrest. Reports showed that the delivery shop where he worked had a blue van at the time. He preyed on young men and boys (the youngest being eight years older than Adam), and his modus operandi included severing his victims’ heads. When interviewed about Adam in the early 1990s, he repeatedly denied involvement in the crime, even stating; “I’ve told you everything- how I killed them, how I cooked them, who I ate. Why wouldn’t I tell you if I did someone else?” After this rumor surfaced, John Walsh stated that he had “seen no evidence” linking his son’s kidnapping and murder to
Dahmer. On December 16, 2006, Hollywood, Florida, Police Chief Chad Wagner, a friend of John, announced, with him present, that the case was now closed. An external review of the case had been conducted and police announced that they were satisfied that Ottis Toole was the murderer.
Because the murder of Richard Malloy seemed to everyone to be a random criminal act, it came as a surprise to many when another male body, also shot several times was found in a wooded area of Citrus County, Fl not far from where Malloy’s body had been found barely six months prior. The victim was identified as 43 year old David Spears of Sarasota, Fl. His truck was soon discovered on Interstate 75, unlocked with the license plate missing. Around the same time, 30 miles south of Citrus county another naked body was discovered a short distance off of the Pasco county side of Interstate 75. The victims’ entire body was so decomposed that the medical examiners could not obtain any usable prints to use for identification. They did, however, find that the victim, later identified as Charles Carskaddon, had been shot nine times with a 22. During the next six months more male victims, with a total of eight, were killed and disposed of in similar ways, each somewhere around the Interstate 75 corridor.
When you think your average baseball player, what do you think of? The player usually has all of his arms, legs, and no physical disabilities. Anyone who plays baseball would think it is hard to imagine that a person born without a right arm is able to play the game and let only be able to be a pitcher. Jim Abbott faces all the odds and has ten-year career in the major leagues. Abbott had to faces many obstacles throughout life and his playing career. Jim Abbott grew up being picked on since he didn’t have a right arm. When Abbott was younger he would use a steel hook as right hand and other children were afraid of him. Also, they called him names like Mr. Hook.
Dahmer was a pretty normal, but very lonely kid. His loneliness followed him throughout the course of his life. Never having an intimate friendship or relationship, along with being consumed with confusion over his own sexuality eventually led him to become the household name he is today. From 1978 to 1991, Dahmer murdered 17 boys and men. Not only is he considered a murderer, but he committed (on several occasions) rape and dismemberment. After his later murders, he was found guilty of necrophilia, cannibalism, and permanent preservation of body parts. He is arguably the most well known, gruesome, and intriguing criminal in American history.
Terry Blair was born on September 16, 1961, he is a known American serial killer in, Kansas City, Missouri, where he killed and raped more the seven women. He grew up in a family where he’s mother had a ninth grade education and suffered from a mental illness. Blair’s family had many encounters with the police, as he was growing up. While Blair was in prison his brother Walter Blair Jr. offered a man to kill Katherine Allen for $6,000 so she couldn’t appear at his rape trial. Terry admitted to abducting the girl and taking her to an empty lot and shooting her, Walter was imprisoned for the murder and executed in 1993. On March 27, 2008 a judge found Terry guilty for the murders of the six women, the women’s bodies were found in the Prospect Avenue corridor in 2003 and 2004.
Jeffrey then destroyed the body parts, he done this by crushing the bones with a hammer and bleaching his skull (this would then become a regular pattern for the discarded of future victims). Dahmer continued to lure victims into is apartment by offering them money for sex or nude photographs (Stubel,2007). He would then drug his victims, engage in sexual intercourse then kill them by strangulation. Dahmer’s fantasies then progressed into necrosadistic behaviour by 1988 as he would kill his victims then participate in necrophilia sex. He would then mutilate their corpses, Dahmer would also save the remains of his victim’s body parts as souvenirs such as save genitals of victims, scalps and skulls (Purcell and Arrigo, (2006). Collecting these items allowed to him masturbate up to the point of orgasm and relive the paraphilia experience Dahmer reported. Dahmer also engaged in cannibalism as as in his words a way remembering the victim, it was also reported that this was sexually arousing to Dahmer. Over a period of 13 years Jeffrey killed 17 young males all with a similar organised pattern, the case of Jeffrey Dahmer will be assed below aiming to establish reasons for why he committed such extreme
Lionel and Joyce Dahmer gave birth to their first born, Jeffrey Dahmer, on May 21, 1960 in Milwaukee. Despite Joyce experiencing a difficult pregnancy, Dahmer was a healthy child who was wanted and adored by both his parents. However, his mother did start to become distant to him as she refused to breast feed him and started demonstrating unstable behavior along with substance abuse. Meanwhile, his father was pursuing his doctoral for chemistry in Iowa which limited the time Lionel had with his family. At age five, Dahmer’s little brother was born and that was when the feeling of neglect set in him. For the first time, the little attention provided from his parents had to be shared with his brother David. Dahmer began displaying extreme shyness but also severe tantrums. During the ages of six and seven, Dahmer “was regarded by other children as odd and bizarre (Martens, 2005).” Even though he did not show any interest in developing genuine social relations, Dahmer did demonstrate a fascination with bug and animal dissections. When Dahmer was six he had “undergone hernia surgery, when he woke up from the anesthesia he was worried someone could have cut his genitals, the pain lasted for one week and after a long recovery period his parents remember he turned to be very loner (Giannetakis, n.d.).” It is believed that at age eight Dahmer had been sexually abused by a boy in his neighborhood (Hickey, 2013). If this event did occur, it could explain why he developed destructive sexual fantasies at the young age of twelve. Despite him being aloof, it has been reported that he would seek attention by faking epileptic seizures at school and local shops. By his adolescent years, he developed compulsive masturbation which would eventually lead to legal trouble (Silva, 2002). At the age of fourteen, Dahmer turned to alcohol abuse in order to overcome his feeling of despair and compulsive thoughts of sexual violent acts.
On July 15, 2008, grandmother Cindy Anthony notifies the Orange County Sheriff’s Office of the disappearance of her 2-year-old granddaughter, Caylee Anthony. The 911 call to the sheriff’s office comes just two days after Cindy and her husband, George Anthony, had received a letter in the mail notifying them that their daughter and the mother of Caylee, Casey Anthony’s car had been towed. Upon receiving this information, Cindy contacted Casey to further question her about the whereabouts of her granddaughter Caylee. At this time Casey admitted that she had not seen Caylee in 31 days after leaving her with a babysitter named Zenaida "Zanny" Fernandez-Gonzalez. (Biography.com Editors, n.d.)

David Berkowitz most famously known by Son Of Sam was a gruesome serial killer in the late seventies. David Berkowitz’s birth name was Richard David Falco. At a young age Berkowitz was given up for adoption by his birth mother where he was then adopted by Nathan and Pearl Berkowitz. When Berkowitz was a teenager his adoptive mother, Pearl Berkowitz passed away which ultimately led to Berkowitz becoming extremely depressed. Berkowitz lived in New York and worked in the post office, he was shy, quiet, and anti-social. This made it easy for him to be unsuspected. David Berkowitz’s activities leading to the murders were setting around 1,488 fires in New York City and kept a diary of each one. His first kill was in 1975 on Christmas Eve when he stabbed a girl to death, this was the incident that gave him the thrill of killing and the need to kill again. It was discovered that he had murdered six people and wounded seven from 1976-1977.
Jeffrey Dahmer was born on May 21, 1960. He was the first born out of two. Growing up he did not get a lot of attention for his mother was an attention hog always wanting his dad’s attention, she even attempted suicide to make his father pay more attention to her. They also did fight a lot. When he was four his dad dug out old bones and ever since then he has had a fascination for bones. He would get dead animals off the road and dismember them and would keep their body parts in jars. When asked why he said it was because he was curious of how they fit together. He even put a dog’s head on a steak and put it in his backyard.
In 1991, 11 year old Jaycee Lee Dugard was taken right in front of her stepfather’s eyes on her way to school in South Lake Tahoe, by what police believed was a man and a women. Years had went by and nothing had turned up about the missing Jaycee Lee Dugard. In 2009, one of Jaycee’s abductors Phillip Garrido went into his parole office with Jaycee (going by Alyssa at the office), telling police that Jaycee was his neice. Police began suspicious, because along with Jacy and Phillip were two young girls claiming those were his nieces as well. Phillip eventually confessed to a parole officer that he had kidnapped and raped Jacy. She had been held captive behind and series of tents for eighteen years at Phillip and his wife Nancy’s home. While
“After killing Steven he dismembered the body with a carving knife. He later pulverised the bones with a sledge hammer and scattered the bones around the[his grandmother’s]property. The flesh was put into bags and buried in a crawlspace under the house. It wasn't until 3yrs later that police and forensics found the remains.” (Blanco) His second murder was not until 1987. Within those nine years, Dahmer went to Ohio State University for a semester, enlisted and got kicked out of the military, and finally. was convicted and released for touching himself in front of children. A wild seven years. His second murder victim was named Steven Tuomi. Although, the process of the murder was almost exactly like the murdering of Hicks, Dahmer was not charged for the murder of Tuomi due to the lack of evidence. Dahmer’s next murder victim was James "Jamie" Doxtator. He went missing on the sixteenth of January in 1988 and is the first racial minority, and minor Dahmer killed. Despite the fact that Doxtator was fourteen at the time, both men involved stood at six feet or six feet and one inch. Doxtator was drugged,
Phillip like most criminal had problems with drugs at a very young age. In 1972 Phillip rapped and drugged a girl a fourteen year old girl but charges were dropped because the girl didn’t want to testify. In 1976 he abducted a twenty-five year old woman and rapped her too. He was caught and was sentenced to fifty years in prison but he only served eleven years and got parole in 1988. While in prison he met his soon to be wife Nancy. Nancy was born on July 18, 1955 in Seguin Texas. While Phillip was still in prison they got married on October 5, 1981. He was released and only two years later he abducted Jaycee Lee Dugard. Jaycee Lee Dugard was born on May 3, 1980 in South Lake Tahoe, California. Only at the age of eleven, on July 10, 1991 she was kidnapped from outside of her house. She was kidnapped from outside of her house. Her stepdad tried to chase down the car on a bike but they got away. Her stepdad called the police and everything but she wasn’t found. Phillip and Nancy Garrido took and kept Jaycee in the backyard of their house in Antioch, California for 18 long and sad years. During those eighteen years she was rapped multiple times and was told many lies by Phillip and Nancy. The icing on the bake was that Phillip got Jaycee pregnant twice and she had two daughters when she was only fourteen and seventeen years old. One day Nancy and Phillip went to the University of California of Berkeley because they had a religious event. People got suspicious so one day someone called the police and found out that he was a sex offender and was shocked that he had two little girls with him. Because of that there was a parole meeting on August 26, 2009 so Nancy, Phillip, Jaycee, and her two daughters were there. Phillip told his parole officer that Jaycee and her daughters that were relatives. But later he crumbled under pressure and two days later Phillip and Nancy were charged with 29 felonies.
