My five favorite movie actors and actress are Adam Sandler, Viola Davis, Taraji P. Henson, Tyler Perry and Morgan Freemen. Adam Sandler is a funny actor that can be seen in many comedy movies. Viola Davis acts in the TV show How to get away with murder and many drama movies. Taraji P. Henson was featured in Karate Kid and many other drama/action films. Like Adama Sandler, Tyler Perry is a comedy actor who dresses up as an old lady. Last but not least is Morgan Freemen, I just love his narration voice and his acting skills. If they weighed 40 more than they currently do, I still I would still like these as much as I do. The talent of these actors and actress are what draws me to them. I do not think it would matter if they weighed a bit heavier …show more content…
Therefore being obese or overweight would not help these actors or actress unless they were playing the role of someone who is overweight or obese. In most movies I have seen, the actors and actress are not overweight or obese on unless the producers deliberately feature them.
Unfortunately, Fat people are often depicted in comical ways on television and in movies. Other characters make fun of the person who is fat in the films. Because people make fun of these characters, they are often depicted as first as having low self-esteem. There is usually one character that is finding enough to appreciate the person who is fat. Sadly, most films do not have a fat character.
One way in which fat people are depicted in films is that they are the person who is always hungry or caught eating something that they are not supposed to. Fat people are depicted as sloppy and gross because they have food stains on their clothes or oil stains. Another way they are depicted is that they are always last to a place because it takes them longer to get to one point to the

He does not look his age because of the model and editing that is done on the film. Adam Sandler has always looked the same in every movie. Viola Davis is 52 years old. Makeup is also put on her but there are some scenes that she is barefaced then you can see her age. Taraji P. Henson is 47 years of age. She rarely has no makeup on but you can see her age around her eyes. Tyler Perry is 47 years old. He is not seen aged unless he is dress as one of the other characters he plays ( ex. Madea). Whereas, Morgan Freeman is the oldest. He is 80 years old. The only thing that looks aged on his face is his hair but you cannot tell if he is 80 years old. I personally think the appearances of my favorite acts are fine. I am not driven by their appearance, I just love their acting
In the beginning of her paper, Kurkjian states that being fat is being unattractive and that Carver intends to portray that as the fat man is ridiculed in the restaurant. This is something I agree with. When Carver mentions the rude comments of Rudy and even the narrator’s description of him to Rita, the audience learns that fat is being perceived as a bad characteristic. This can refer
The article “Fat and Happy: In Defense of Fat Acceptance” is written by Mary Ray Worley, a member of the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance. She writes of her firsthand experience as a “fat person” in society. Throughout the article, Worley explains what it is like to be obese and describes the way society treats those who have a weight problem. She attacks the idea of dieting, criticizes medical professionals for displaying an obscured view of health risks, and defends the idea of exercising to feel good rather than exercising to lose weight. Unfortunately, her article seems to reflect only own opinions and emotions rather than actual facts and statistics.
The 36-year-old comic's almost childlike behavior conceals his status as a Hollywood workaholic who's unwaveringly loyal to his friends.
The author brings in the mental health aspect and talks about the ridicule that is a part of a heavy person’s life regularly. She notes that people will make rude comments, or comment about what they have in their grocery cart at the store. She states that people are not that into getting medical help by reason of a doctor almost always attributing health issues to the fact a person is fat. She talks about how she has tried so many times to lose weight, but she realized that she needed to just make peace with her body. Spake and Worley disagree on how people should handle their addiction.
Obesity and opposition are the two main issues of this film. The issue of obesity, treated lightly in the beginning of the film and then severely by the end, reflects society’s approach to weight loss. To ...
More specifically, he maintains that it upsets them because they feel like failures. Schwartz even uses the phrase “failures in all of life” (180) because he wants his audience to realize the deep disappointment overweight people suffer when they feel they cannot live up to societal expectations. The author attempts to make readers feel complicit in this when he suggests the overweight “will come to agree with everyone else that they are failures in all of life” (180). He asserts that Americans make obese people feel useless because of their size. Schwartz hopes to convince the public that fat people are made to feel worse about themselves because of the way society treats
Moreover, no matter how much fat people try to lose weight, media and judgmental people will always be there to make obese people look worthless. On top of that, their strict exercise regimen does not seem to pay off because everything would match but weight. At one point, obese people give up and just accept the reality that they are obese and are allowed to be mocked.
Smith also implies that being overweight does not only limit the person by just his or her appearance, but factors such as capabilities and endurance should apply. For example, when she explains that "fat" people are discriminated to get jobs strictly because of their weight, the first thing that comes to my mind is modeling (86). Stereotypically, I picture a lobby full of slender women and brawny men, who are waiting for their name to be called for getting the part in a lingerie advertisement. Then, I see an overweight woman walk in, and everyone is staring, chuckling, and whispering, making her feel out of place, but now that is diminishing and there are plus sized models.
Interest in the social aspects of obesity is nothing new. Jeffrey Sobal has written extensively about the social and psychological consequences of obesity , including the stigmatisation and discrimination of obese and even overweight individuals (Sobal 2004).
Discriminating against a person because of one's weight can be a seriously hurtful and demeaning thing. Many people assume that the causes for being overweight are eating all day and rarely exercising. Some people call overweight people slobs or lazy, when in most instances this isn't the case. Some have health problems that lead to being overweight, like a kidney disease or malfunction, or the person may even be suffering from a birth defect.
According to the United States Department of Health and Human Services there have been a notably large number of deaths due to obesity since it leads into other diseases like heart disease, type two diabetes and high blood pressure. Over weight and obese people in general
Obesity means having too much body fat. It is not the same as being overweight, which means weighing too much. Someone may be overweight from extra muscle, bone, or water, as well as from having too much fat. (Bing health). Obesity is a major problem that is occurring in parts all over the world. Currently, the fattest nation is America . Many people are overweight because the do too little or no exercise at all. This is especially true in countries like America, where as people are bombarded by fast food stores on virtually every corner. Obesity can not only cause health problems, but as well mental ones. Obese people may think of themselves as a useless human being because they are too fat and can’t accomplish anything, because of their weight. Though this is incorrect, many people believe this and end up taking their life. In this paper we will describe the causes of obesity and ways to combat the “everlasting epidemic.”
His older age fits well in Dr. Armstrong’s part in the movie. He has taken many parts in many different movies. Some of his best roles he is known for are Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings, Magneto in X-Men, and Cogsworth in Beauty and the
On a daily basis, many people look at magazines or on TV and inspire to be their favorite celebrity. They will try to be them as much as possible, however, there is a cost. Children today have role models who are super skinny. In addition, will it cause serious problems in their childhood? Many people will have eating disorders or save money to get plastic surgery. Negative body image is popular among women in today's generation because they look at models and desire to be skinny.
