1) Title of Book: The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test 2) Author: Tom Wolfe 3) The grounds on which Thomas Wolfe created this documentation of the Merry Pranksters is that he attempts to re-create both the mental and physical atmosphere of their adventure and exploration across America. 4) Specific evidence in supporting the aforementioned thesis can be found in the “Author’s Note” section of the book but also in the writing style used to develop this masterpiece. Writing in a basic journal style, Wolfe documented the extraordinary life style lived by the Pranksters through personal experiences with them as well as transcribing their adventures that were captured on both film and tape. 5) Tom Wolfe, with his journalist style of transcribing the current events, seems hard-pressed to be categorized into a specific group of historians, but he can be most noticeably associated with the New Left. This is because The New Left dealt mainly with the social and economic movements of the 1960’and 70’s, and the Psychedelic movement Wolfe documented so well was definitely a social movement of the infamous 1960’s. 6) Tom Wolfe grew up in the land of Richmond, Virginia. He eventually graduated from Washington and Lee University, and later received a doctorate in American Studies from Yale. Besides being a novelist, Wolfe has worked as a reporter for the Springfield Union, The Washington Post, and the New York Herald Tribune. Some of his writings have also appeared in New York Magazine, Esqu...
In the first bolgia of circle eight Dante describes one of the most provocative punishments, which is being beaten with lashes. The souls who reside here deceived women for their own advantage. Because of this they are stuck in a place where they have no advantage. Either way they turn they meet the same terrible fate. More provocative than lashes in The Inferno is being exposed to burning rain in the third round of the seventh circle of hell. In the third zone the usuers must sit under the fire rain with purses around their necks. These purses contain the family emblems that they stole while they were living. Burning constantly would be a terrible, painful punishment. In bolgia five of the eight circle yet another provocative punishment, being plunged into boiling pitch and tormented by black devils, is seen by Dante and Virgil. The demons take chunks out of their skin, much like the grafters too chunks of money from other people while they were alive. This punishment is appropriate when considering the sin, but the thought of enduring something so painful is what is what makes it provocative. After reading this poem it is obvious that it had an intended audience. Dante was trying to set people straight and put them on the right path. The fear of hell is a good way to do that because fear is what motivates people above all else. Dante was provocative at times, but it was only in order to reach his intended

There are only two elements to determine an investment valuation using NPV approach: the difference between present value of the investment’s cash flows and the investment cost that are discounted by the risk-free rate or time value of money. The project should commence if it has a positive NPV, otherwise it should be abandoned.
What if you woke up every morning with a feeling of dread about getting through the day? What if you were constantly in a state of worry? What if you had spontaneous, uncontrollable panic attacks throughout the day? What if you uncontrollably washed your hands to the point where they bled and cracked? What if you had an anxiety disorder? Anxiety is the most common illness in the U.S., affecting 40 million adults over the age of 18; that counts for 18% of the U.S. population. However, 22.8% of those cases are counted as severe anxiety.

The article, The Two Faces of Issue Voting, endeavors to illuminate the "issues" that cause the voting wonder. Carmines and Stimson assert that the marvel transcends by means of "hard" and "easy" ways, which are "hypothetically distinctive and observationally identifiable sorts"
The success of capital investment projects varies and it is sensitive to numerous factors. A particular belief is that the failure of capital investment projects is pegged to the fact that the adjacent decisions are made in an improper manner, that the resources are poorly allocated and that the correc...
Authoritarian Parenting stems from eras far before us and revolves around a strict parental role, ideologically geared solely towards the success of the child, ignoring or unlatching certain entities that permissive parenting upholds. Permissive parenting, on the other hand, dives into a more lenient style of parenting with more open-minded ideas. Although these two styles differ in methods of raising a child or children, parents of both styles share the goal of striving for the success of their
...mportant to allow a person to end his or her suffering rather than continuing on with what can be painful daily treatments; not to mention the bills that are racking up with all these treatments. At the end of the day, it is the patient’s life that is being affected. They may not be happy with all the hurt they are going through as well as the hurt that their family can be going through by having to watch their loved one go through so much. Give patients the right to die and die with dignity.
With regards to your first paragraph, you are right on point. Excellent perception. Understanding in life there are always three sides of every story, it is impossible to keep everyone happy even when the result appears to be positive. Think about when planning a wedding and how exciting a wedding is and how this time in a couple's life ends up causing so many problems, heartaches, and many times destroys not only friendships, families, but also results in the marriage never taking place after all is said and done. The point I bring to the table about being a liar for educational purposes is from experience I know students are concerned with offending each other so instead of voicing their opinions openly they simply agree with everything their classmate's write. This procedure serves absolutely no valuable educational purpose if everyone agrees with each other even when they disagree with what they wrote. This is why I openly offer your classmates and you to write whatever you want about me. I will not get offended and I actually encourage you to DISAGREE with anything and everything I write, but I ask that you defend you position with facts. And if you choose not to disagree with me - I WILL DISAGREE WITH YOU! Understand, there is nothing you can write that will actually offend me, but I do ask that you not purposefully offend your classmates. (In class I openly say things to the students so they know I'm okay with being challenged verbally and while I cannot illustrate that to your class and you on a discussion board, accept that it is acceptable.)
As NPV and IRR use the output of risk management (Atrill and McLaney, 2012) this is likely to increase the accuracy of these processes. But accurate outputs do not necessarily increase firms and projects performance. The information needs to be analysed by people with the skills to interpret the data: Financial decisions rarely have a yes/no answer, and are often multidimensional. (Atrill and McLaney, 2012) To minimise mistakes, skilled staff are needed.
Doctors claim that most typically suffer from depression or other mental Illness when they are in the state which they want to be let go (Wemuth 4). Instead of dealing with these things in actions like killing we need to show our deepest compassion towards everyone’s life no matter how big or small the illness might be. In fact, many people who face terminal illness are usually based on fear and depression, if the doctors do not realize depression or anxiety the patient has and they might even die from unrecognized terror due to the fear and lack of treatments (golden 2). Many patients just want to solve a temporary problem with a huge effect on many others later on and of course the family members what to do anything they possibly can to not see their loved ones in pain and think that when assisted suicide is brought up it might be the right option for them to take, but for everyone’s sake it should not be brought up for questions when doctors are of course here to help. When the patient hit or even bring up the thought of assisted suicide they want to die because they are in a tremendous amounts of pain they don’t want to through it but if they want to see any improvements they have to stick thought it to possible get better. In Many cases with cancer patients they want to go as soon as they hear they have cancer and need chemotherapy thinking that aren’t going to make
determine, which ones deserve investment. There are three general methods to decide which proposed projects deserve investment which are the, throughput analysis, discounted cash flows analysis, and payback analysis. Throughout analysis determines the impact of the investment and the throughput of the whole system. Discounted cash flow analysis utilizes the discount rate in order to determine the present value of all cash flows. Lastly, the payback analysis calculates how fast one can earn back the investment and it also measures the risk reduction more than the return on investment.
Despite the actions that come from discipline and go against the parents’ moral values, parents are strict with their children in an effort to look out for the child’s best interests. Others may disagree and view strict parenting as a negative effect on the child’s brain development, but in contrast, parents are strict in order to guide their children down the right path to prosperity. There are different types of parenting, despite whether the parents are good or bad people. If there is one thing strict parenting guarantees is an interest in the child and their well
