Abraham Lincoln was a great leader a long time ago. He will be remembered to this day. According to History.com, Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809, Hodgenville, KY. He was assassinated on April 15, 1865, Petersen house, Washington, DC. He was a self-taught lawyer, and he was the 16th President of the United states. He was married to Mary Todd Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln is a great leader because he was smart, a good public speaker, and he was very independent.

On January 1, 1863, he issued the Emancipation proclamation, that freed all the slaves. According to History.com Abraham Lincoln was a self-taught lawyer. He taught himself how to be a great lawyer. Also, Abraham Lincoln joined the new republican party formed largely in opposition to slavery's extension into the territories in 1858. As you can see, he is very smart.

According to History.com, Abraham's parents died when he was very young. So, he grew up all alone with no one to care for him, and he grew up being a very independent person because he had to care for himself. According to LeonardoNetonic.com, Abraham Lincoln realized while he went on trips on boats that whenever they got stuck in small spaces that there was no way to get them out. So, he invented a way to fix this sticky situation. He first inflated the air chambers at the bottom of the boat so, when the boat got stuck it could simply rise up over the object that it was stuck on.
