Examining Abortion: Divisive Issue in American Culture

Abortion has long been a divisive issue in American culture and politics. Matters such as fetal viability, economics and women's health were evaluated within medical, legal and government institutions.
Has one of your family members have had an abortion? No, and I’m glad for that. I have nothing against people who abort but that doesn’t mean I like it as much as the next person. I think abortion isn’t the right way to go and I’m hopefully going to make you feel the same way.
First of all Abortion has and is a complicated problem in Americans culture and politics (ProQuest). This means that there are always different sides and different circumstances. Some people think that if they have a bad life they don’t want their child. Well I believe that person should still have the baby but give it up if you don’t think you’re ready to raise a kid

of your own.
Second there are some supporters to let abortion happen and with less restrains (ProQuest). Some people believe in abortion and with less problems to hold them back from getting an abortion. So it helps people get an abortion.
Also many Americans support abortion but only to a point (ProQuest). This means that some people that don’t like abortion say they don’t like it but they won’t do anything about it. So they are just saying one thing but not doing anything to support there diction on what they say about abortion.
Some people do recognize that abortion is bad for the kid and the mother (ProQuest). Some people would do research on abortion. They would find how it hurts the mother and the kid. They would also fine some bad effects that the mother would have to deal with through the rest of her life.
There is Pro-choice that wants abortion to be gone (ProQuest). So there are some sites and organizations who want abortion to be gone. They think that abortion is horrible.
Some states said that they understood the abortion law against abortionist (Forthe, Clarkel). This law is saying that people can’t blame the abortionist when they help a women abort her baby. So this law protects abortionist.
At 1973, Roe vs Wade made it legal for abortion under the 14th amendment (Somasshekhar, Sandhya, and McGinley). So at one point abortion was illegal in some states to have women help in her own abortion. So this law says that they wont have to pay a fine or going to jail for this.
Some states have statues to help stop solicitation of abortion (ProQuest). So some states did this to have people know more about abortion. The states want people to know that abortion isn’t always the right choice.
In around 20 states, they have a law that it’s a crime for a women to participate in her own abortion but it wasn’t listened to (ProQuest). They are saying that they don’t want to women that is pregnant to help in her own abortion. They want the abortionist to do it so they make the baby not hurt as much. There were only two women charged for being a part of her own abortion (Forthe, Clarkel).

A lot of states have laws, making abortion providers to be in part of the FDA approved label (Somasshekhar, Sandhya, and McGinly). They want the baby to not hurt as much. They also don’t want more complications with the mother. If they are a part of FDA they know for sure that they are doing the best thing for them. North Dakota also has laws that requires abortion providers to follow FDA guidelines (Somasshekhar, Sandhya, and McGiningly).
The FDA is making it easier to get the abortion pill (Somasshekhar, Sandhya, and McGinly). The FDA is doing this because this doesn’t hurt the baby or the mother as much. Also its quicker so that they baby hasn’t grow very much.
FDA is making it hard for the people to find out who was involved with Mifprex (Goognough, Abby). Mifprex is two drugs that are used together to kill the egg and sperm (Goognough, Abby). They don’t want people to know who has used this because they don’t want to let people know who got an abortion and who didn’t.
Most Clinics have the surgical and medication abortion close to the same amount of money (Goognough, Abby).

So both way people have to pay a lot of money to get an abortion and I believe that is fair to do. You would be taking a life away so yeah I think it should cost a lot.
Some say that the new label guidelines could make it better known (Somasshekhar, Sandhya, and McGinly). It would make it better known to people that want abortions and clinics. Plus the people would know what they are putting in his body.
The Supreme Court’s ruling in Griswold vs. Connecticut in 1965 made it right to have a privacy use birth control (Somasshekhar, Sandhya, and McGinly). So now people don’t have to know if you use birth control. So now you have that type of privacy.
Conclusion: Abortion has long been a divisive issue in American culture and politics. Matters such as fetal viability, economics and women's health were evaluated within medical, legal and government institutions. So in the end I believe that you should not have an abortion because you are killing and human being. I don’t care how along you are, I don’t think you should

abort.
