Abortion Should NOT Be Legal

"I am 17. One month ago, I had an abortion. My story is not tragic. No one made me get the abortion. It’s only my mother and me in the house. My father has never been in the picture. I broke the news to my mom, and she gave me every option and said whatever I chose, she would support me” (“Abortion Story”). October 3, 1973 was when abortion was legalized in all 50 states. Studies show that the abortion rate has dropped to the lowest point since becoming legal (Sandhya). That is a great statistic, but unfortunately, there are still women who continue to have abortions. Making abortion illegal in the United States (U.S.) is a necessary act. Abortion should be outlawed throughout all trimesters, not just the second and third. It should also be illegal due to the health risks that it could have on a woman's future, and a safe alternative women can choose instead. The last reason it should illegal if because of the fact that it could be considered murder. Making abortion illegal is the necessary act.
Abortion needs to become illegal through all three trimesters. Abortion is legal up until the first trimester. Instead of making abortion legal during the first trimester, it should just simply be outlawed as a whole. The first trimester is the first three months of pregnancy. Since abortion is legal through the first trimester the carrier of the baby can abort the baby within this time period. After that it is considered illegal. In the time during the first trimester, the baby starts to develop. The first trimester is the beginning of a young child. By the end of the first trimester is when the young baby will develop the basic components of a human body, such as hands that contain fingers, and feet that contain toes...
