Recommended: Essay on consequences of abortion

Every year the rate of abortions change drastically. From 2005 to 2011 the percentage of abortions has gone up. Most abortions now days are teen girls ranging between the ages of 14 and up. Each year, 1.7% of women age 15-44 have an abortion. In 2005, 1.21 million abortions were performed, over half of which were illegal. In 2010 1.13 million abortions were performed worldwide, in which 78% of them were performed illegally. Each year the amount of abortions go up drastically, instead of abortions why not give the baby up for adoption.
Abortions can hurt the woman severely, even kill the woman. If the procedure is done in an unsafe manner the woman could die from; cervical tears, retained pregnancy tissue, severe heavy bleeding, sepsis, uterine perforation, bladder and bowel damage. One woman dies every seven minutes all around the world due to an unsafe illegal abortion. Abortions are performed for many reasons such as; rape, incest, 50/50 chance the baby may not survive, and just because the woman doesn’t want to have it. In my opinion if you are “woman” enough to have sex than you should be “woman” enough to take care of that baby. No reason in aborting the baby there are millions of married couples that can’t have babies which results in them adopting, instead of aborting the baby put it up for adoption. The percentages of abortions rise each year, year by year millions are performed all around the world lots of which are done illegally. Over 45 million abortions have been performed legally from 1973 to 2005, 1.2 million of which were performed illegally from 1973 to 2005. Each year 13,000 women have abortions because they became pregnant as a result of rape and incest.

...There are 2.8 million couples in the world that can’t have babies, but would love to. Help them out give the baby up for adoption for those who can’t have babies. You are not only risking the baby’s life, but as you lay upon that operation table you to could die. There are woman every day that die from something going wrong during the abortion. I believe that the only reason you should get an abortion is if it’s because of incest, rape, or if there is a 50/50 chance your baby won’t live. I personally would take that 50/50 chance and have my baby, just because what if the baby was to live and I would be able to hold my baby.
From 1973 to 2005 million unwanted pregnancies end in getting terminated. There are many religions all around the world that don’t believe in abortions. From as far back as when Jesus was living people then said it was wrong to have an abortion.
